The prospects of me ever convincing my non-race-fan wife that we should spend our annual vacation budget sitting in an arena in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is slim to none. Consequently, this June 29, 2014, shot is probably the last good shot I'll get of Sammy Swindell. No complaints, I have gotten some classics over the years all stored in prints and CD's never to be seen again. I've got more shots than I'll ever need to completely cover the walls of my man cave so no complaints. This one was taken at the Cedar Lake World of Outlaws show. I'm sharing these because if I don't nobody will ever see them and when I kick the bucket they'll most likely get thrown in the trash. The family doesn't share my appreciation for my photo collection.

If it makes you feel any better, you are not alone. I had to hide my deceased brother-in-law's Open Wheel collection lest it be thrown in the trash during my lifetime - not after.

Very nice shot, Stan. As a fellow photographer, I am wondering if you have heard the PHOTOGRAPHERS PRAYER: "Oh Lord, if I should die, please do not let my wife sell my photo equipment for what I told her I paid for it"! You may want to kneel by your bed this very night!

Put it in your will that all your stuff goes to the Hall of Fame. I will deliver it if needed. To much of the history of this great sport gets lost. Thanks for the pic.

Thanks! I plan on sticking around and adding to the collection for a while longer. The photos include all the classes that run up here so I've got a ton of Late Model, Modified, Super Stock, Street Stock, Pure Stock and Hornet pics as well. There are even a bunch of Street Rod pics from a couple of the big meets they have at our Fairgrounds. Lots of stuff for sure.
