BRIAN LEPPO RETIRING FROM RACING By Brad Vores for Brian Leppo Racing September 30, 2014
Excitement was abundant from Brian Leppo friends and fans following last week’s announcement that Brian would be returning to the wheel of a sprint car for the Dirt Classic presented by Kasey Kahne at Lincoln Speedway. With the Apple Motorsports #12 coming out of retirement for what was to be a one race deal, Brian strapped back for the event but Brian didn’t transfer into the main event. Despite being asked to pilot the car in this weekend’s National Open at Williams Grove and talk about a 2015 deal with the team, Brian declined the offer and instead announced that he is stepping away from racing. “I am stepping away from racing to continue to enjoy family time,” Leppo said about his sudden announcement. “This wasn’t an easy decision but I feel it’s the right one.” Brian started racing family owned cars in 1990 and was able to compete in micro sprints before moving up through into the 410 sprint car ranks. “I’ve been fortunate to have lived a dream out, thanks to my parents, grandparents, friends and family along with great car owners, great sponsors and great crew members,” Leppo added. “I greatly appreciate all of my fans and great people we’ve worked with along the way. I have a lot to be thankful for.” Brian has been fortunate to race for some of the best car owners in the Central Pennsylvania during his years including Swope Motorsports, Keen Motorsports, CC Dietz Motorsports, CJB Motorsports, Zemco Racing and Apple Motorsports. “I have to thank Lee Stauffer for asking me to run the car last week,” he stated. “Despite not having the results we were hoping for last Saturday, we had a good time being back at the races.”

Are you sure Lee didn't tell Brian he should "sit in the stands next week"?

It is a shame Brian Leppo is retiring from racing , we will miss him , his driving ability , his great personality , and his great connection with fans . I understand why Brian is definitely retiring , he found out what it was like to be away from racing with his kids , as he is a great family man and father . Another reason was it becomes a constant battle to obtain good rides in 410 sprint car racing ,especially after you have good rides and then you lose them for various reasons . My opinion is we will lose more good drivers for same reasons . There is not many good reasons to be in this business now , as it is just that a business not a sport anymore to have fun with as it use to be . Costs and continually putting more money in car to keep up with the next guy is not helping either .

Considering he was offered the ride and said no, he was also offered the ride for races next season as well. So not too sure Lee told him to "Sit in the stands next week"

Good luck Brian.
Always rocked a skunk avatar and the number 71 because of him.
Won't ever forget him beating the All-Stars his first night in the Zemco ride, or taking it to Schatz in the CJB 51 (which was actually the fulfillment of one of the things I wanted to see most, Brian and Stevie both racing for the same team).
His version of the Keen 17 was one of the more attractive looking cars, too.
