No late models again.  That used to be a great show.  900 horse late models are better than 400 horse MSAs.  Also I like how the IRA promo for this race makes it sound like Whitney is gonna be there.  Quit doing everyone a "favor" and bring the Hales Corners guys back.

Glad to hear you won't be there then so we will not have to hear your complaints. Recent memory the Filskov has always been an all open wheel show.

Wings is right, there used to be fenders at the Filskov, might have been 08 or 09, but that falls into distant memory, not recent!

I thought the fender/wing Filskov shows were better than all wings, but I understand I am in the minority on that one.

On a slightly related note...

I was wondering if the Alaskan Cheesehead (or any other IRA regular) was going to come south and try to cash in on the big Renegade race at Atomic this fall?

Why support a Renegade show that is two days long for one purse. Don't look for anyone to tow down that far for a one night show.

I heard ( and my sources are Pretty freaking GOOD ) that BIG WHEEL Scotty Thiel will be making the tow for the Renegade Sprints at Atomic in October

Balog is out in IA and MN this weekend with The Outlaws, so there won't be a Plymouth sweep for him this year. Should be a competitive race, and the cool wet weather should make for a grip-and-rip race track. I'm guessing about 30 cars in each division. Works for me!

Sounds like a great show! No Balog or Whitney and 400 hp MSA cars instead of 900 up late models.

Thiel should be called the BIG SQUEAL! I saw the highlight vid from Seymour and wow you should hear him! It was like someone stole his box of crayons......

He was interviewed at the end and made a real ass of himselfe. Never liked the guy when he was in 360's and now this..lol... And was told his was the first team to leave after the pits opened because he was scared the fan he called out to meat him at his trailer would show......

sorry to say but a MSA 360 puts out more horses than that! More like 520 to the  highest  that I have heard of 591 hp. they are still faster than the 900 hp late models,

Yes, MSA cars are quite a bit faster than the late models. Outside of maybe the top 5-6 weekly cars at Plymouth, the rest arent much in terms of late models. Its gotten worse over the years, and caution after caution with them. Actually curious how much faster the IRA are than the MSA cars.. in terms of a qualifying track. I know an MSA car finished top 5 last year on a black track, but curious on a tacky track, what the differance would be in seconds.

on a tacky track IRA  cars are alot faster! at 141 the track was tacky, correct me if I am wrong, but I do not think any msa engine cars made the feature.as Curt Davis said to me if the track dries out we will be ok.

A MSA sprint car weighs 1575 lbs IRA 1475lbs 500some horses IRA 750+ and spin about 8500+. MSA 7300 rpm so they have to be geared taller than a IRA car for the same track, MSA has alot of new blood so they do not put on as good a show as they use to. it will get better!

I'm with you on the Sprint Car and Late Model shows.  I wish everyone from those two clases could just get along so I could see more of them.  That's why I was bummed when the Triple rained out at Cedar Lake.  They had a great field of Sprints, Lates and Mods and most never rolled their cars out of the haulers.
