Salina High Banks Set for USMTS This Saturday Night!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Geary, Oklahoma – August 19, 2014 - The fast and steep Salina High Banks Speedway in Pryor, Oklahoma are set to host the baddest modified drivers in the region this coming Saturday night as the United States Modified Touring Series makes their second appearance of the 2014 race season this coming Saturday night, August 23, as part of the tracks “Salute to Veterans Night.”

The USMTS will have a full weekend of racing with the tour stopping in Kansas City on Friday night and Wainwright, Oklahoma on Sunday night with the three-eighths mile clay oval of the Salina High Banks sandwiched in the middle.

The tour will be headed by current “Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s Cup” Rodney Sanders of Happy, Texas as he comes into the weekend with a 101 point lead over New Sharon, Iowa’s Zack VanderBeek. Stormy and Johnny Scott currently sit third and fourth respectively in the point standings while Kelly Shryock is fifth in the standings. The only two Oklahoma drivers in the top ten point standings are also expected and include Dereck Ramirez of Woodward and local favorite Joe Duvall. Other drivers expected to compete include regulars Daniel Hilsabeck, Jake Gallardo, Trevor Hunt, John Allen, Lance Town, Cade Dillard, Rick Beebe and Springfield, Missouri’s own Terry Phillips and Jeremy Payne.

Track regulars will look to spoil the efforts of the point chasing touring division led by current Salina High Banks Speedway point leader Paul Cates. Other track regulars expected include Justin Shoemaker, Jeremy Rausmussen, Mike Wroblewski and Jeremy Ross.

Gates open at 5 p.m., hot laps get going at 6:30 and the first green flag waves at 7 p.m.
