The opportunity to go back to my writing gig with MRC presented itself on account of the paper has adjusted their print schedule to monthly. I looked things over and decided that I should be able to do that so I decided to give it a try for a season to see how it goes. It's a win win deal, MRC gets my commitment to do my thing all summer and it gives me a little break to help get to a few more races.
We've still got home maintenance projects and six grandkids with another due in May so it will be a busy summer. And I'll still have the usual challenges of filling the gas tank, etc., so I won't be setting any attendance records but I'll be out there as often as possible. I have learned since turning 60 that as a person gets older their body puts up more of a fight when one attempts to push it out the door. Aside from those challenges I think I've still got something to put out there. Like I told my wife when I decided to get more involved again, "I like following racing, that's who I am and what I do". You can't run from that bug, it will hunt you down and find you.
