AUSTRALIAN STAR TO CHALLENGE AMERICANS AT INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION AT PERRIS - WATCH IT LIVE ONLINE!

(Placentia, CA, June 28, 2011) Australian invader DJ Raw is set to challenge the stars of the California Lightning Sprint Car Series this Saturday night, July 2nd, when Perris Auto Speedway celebrates Independence Day. Joining the CLS on the night will be the USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series, the City of Perris Centennial celebration and the biggest & best fireworks show in Riverside County. Spectator gates will open at 3:00 PM and the first race will be at 7:00. Fans around the world will be able to watch the race on the new PAS pay per view network (http://perrisautospeedway.com/livefeed.html) for just $4.99.

The 2011 Sydney Speedway track champion will become the first ever Australian to race Lightning Sprint Cars in the USA. Raw will be behind the wheel of longtime racer and car builder Tobey Sampson's bright orange #82 for his USA debut. The 28-year-old racing star will be accompanied by brother Adam, who is the NSW (New South Wales) Lightning Sprint Car Series president.

A cousin of multi-time Knoxville Raceway champion Skip Jackson, Raw spent five years racing go-carts before jumping into a Lightning Sprint Car. " I started racing Lightning Sprints in 2006 supported closely by crew chief Warwick Singleton. We've had a consistent past 12 months, but racing in New Zealand was definitely the highlight. I can't thank Dan Hillberg and Tobey Sampson enough for the opportunity to come over to race, it should be a great night of racing."

Raw's sparkling portfolio includes the 2011 Sydney Speedway Track Championship, 2010 Gold Cup Championship and the 2010 Wide Bay Championship (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oreW3mPJBQM).

Raw's PAS debut will be met with defiance from the American racers who are determined to show him who is boss as they celebrate Independence Day. Among those supplying the competition will be series point leader Tim Brown of Wildomar, California and 17-year-old Kevin Michnowicz of Lomita. The personable Brown has only finished outside of the top five one time in the first five races of the 2011 campaign. Rookie Michnowicz, who last Saturday finished 10th in the ASCS 360 Series at Hanford, has won four of the five CLS races he has started this year.

Saturday's race will be available via PAS pay per view for only $4.99. The net cast should begin around 6:00 PM and will be available world wide. There will be a blackout within a 100-mile radius around The PAS, but it will be available a few days later On Demand to everyone.

For early arriving fans there will be games, giant inflatables and a race car train for the kids along with a dunk tank, live band and an on track autograph session.

The California Lightning Sprint Car Series would like to thank 2011 series sponsors Christian Stover Foundation, Circle Track Performance, DJ Safety, Electro Tech Powder Coating, Elliott's Powder Coating, DK Machine and Fabrication, Hoosier Tires, Keizer Wheels, Performance by Rosson Racing, Racing Optics, Rod End Supply, Saldana Race Products and Sander Engineering.
