With the sale of the Kopellah Speedway continuing to move forward, the potential new owners and those who are planning to assist with the operation of the facility in 2011 have scheduled an informational meeting for all interested drivers on Saturday, March 19 at 3:30 p.m. at Loggers Bar & Grill in St. Croix Falls, WI. Loggers Bar & Grill is located just off of Highway 8 at the top of the hill on Glacier Drive behind the BP station. The final sale of the speedway is expected to take place some time during March, as some property line adjustments need to be made on one of the parcels of land before the sale can conclude. An official press release will be made as soon as it is possible to do so.

In the meantime, plans for the 2011 racing season are well underway. The March 19 meeting is for drivers in the prospective weekly divisions which include hornets, pure stocks, midwest modifieds, super stocks, the UMSS Traditional Sprints, and the UMSS micro sprints. Drivers in these racing divisions are encouraged to attend the meeting in order to give input regarding their respective classes. The discussion will include track plans of operation for 2011, the weekly racing divisions, rules and procedures, purses, sanctioning options for a couple of the classes, and other items related to the weekly operation of the track. UMSS CDO Ron Bernhagen has been assisting with putting plans in place for the 2011 season. Ron and others involved with the track will be on hand to lead the discussion. Driver input is something that all parties involved are absolutely looking for, especially regarding the hornet, pure stock, midwest modified and super stock divisions. If there is enough support and interest in having the super stocks return to the weekly racing program, this will be their opportunity to let the potential new owners know by turning out in force at this meeting or communicating their interest ahead of time. If you have questions about the upcoming meeting, please contact Ron Bernhagen at 612-363-5302. Super stock drivers who are unable to attend the meeting but who would like to race at Kopellah Speedway in 2011, please let Ron know ahead of time or email Greg Parent at [email protected] to express your interest. GRP has been advocating the return of the super stock division to the weekly race program and will gladly pass along the names of super stock drivers who are interested.

Those who will be involved with the track are looking forward to a strong turnout on March 19 at Loggers Bar & Grill in St. Croix Falls. For more information on Loggers Bar & Grill or to obtain driving directions, please visit their website at www.loggersgrill.com.

Vance B from Fry Pan Productions set up a very nice poll on his website for the Kopellah Speedway drivers in the street stock, pure stock and super stock classes. I think it will be a good chance to have drivers in those divisions voice their opinions before the March 19 meeting in order to get some kind of an idea heading into the meeting from those who respond. Vance did a great job in putting this together, so I would encourage drivers in those divisions to click on the link below and participate in the poll. GRP

Poll is live and working, the poll is open to the following drivers, pure stock,Street Stock and SUPER STOCK, here is a chance for those drivers to have thier voice heard, the poll will be open untill March 15,2011. you can find the poll buy going to my homepage www.frypanproductions.com . results are collected in a data base and the results will be presented on the 19th at the meeting.
