SIOUX FALLS, SD (March 10, 2007) Are you ready for some racin'? ASCS is.

And so are a number of teams that plan on hitting the road with ASCS in 2007.

One big thing we take pride in at ASCS is getting out the information as soon as possible as we know that most race teams begin preparing for the upcoming season back in October of the previous year.

ASCS schedules were released right after the first of the year. Any rule updates or changes were released right after the first of the year. There's a reason why ASCS has almost doubled in size over the past (2) years. The excitement is just beginning.

The 2007 season opener for the ASCS Northern Plains region and the ASCS Midwest region is only a few weeks away. Both regions will once again begin their seasons at the big ½ mile dirt track just Southwest of Omaha, at the I80 Nebraska Raceway Park in Greenwood, NE.

Fans that traveled down to last years race saw (69) of the areas best sprint car drivers lift the lid on the upper Midwest racing scene for 2006.

It all begins on Friday April 13th as the ASCS Northern Plains drivers go head to head with the ASCS Midwest drivers, and then on Saturday April 14th, the NCRA drivers will join the fun.

After a short layoff, the ASCS Midwest teams will then head south to Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, NE for a Friday night go on May 25th. This will be the first of (2) events held at Junction Motor Speedway as the ASCS Midwest drivers will return on Friday June 29th for an encore performance.

The ASCS Northern Plains teams will resume their schedule with our first ever ASCS National Speedweeks in June. The ASCS National Speedweeks will bring a new level of excitement to the area race fans as these are all National events show casing drivers like Gary Wright, Wayne Johnson, Darren Stewart, Jason Johnson, Travis Rilat, (14) year old Trey Robb, Nick Smith, Gary Lee Maier, Larry Neighbors, and many more ASCS National stars battling against our Midwest drivers such as Toby Chapman, Jack Dover, Mike Chadd, Rick Ideus, Jason Danley, Mark Pace, Luke Cranston and more as well as our ASCS Northern Plains drivers Chuck Swenson, Eric Lutz, Curt Lund, Lee Grosz, Brett Geldner, Jake Peters, Gregg Bakker, Scott Winters, Mike Sitzmann, Jr., Brent Vonk, Dusty Ballenger, Wade Nygaard, Ryan Bickett and many , many more. Excitement and car counts are expected to be high for this first ever ASCS National event here in the upper Midwest.

As it stands now, we will kick off our Speedweeks on Saturday June 16th at the track that many call "the superspeedway of dirt" the Crawford County Speedway in Denison, IA. Sprint cars have been clocked at speeds in excess of 140 mph entering the turns on the HUGE ½ mile track just an hour southeast of Sioux City, IA.

All the teams will then head to Sioux Falls, SD for a huge Tailgate party to be held at the Oaks Hotel on Monday night June 18th. There will be sprint cars on display, autograph sessions and much more. Watch for all the details as this event gets closer.

Then the racing resumes on Tuesday night June 19th at the Interstate I-90 Speedway in Hartford, SD, where Jason Johnson won the June event last year.

Teams will then head "upstream" to the North Central Speedway in Brainerd, MN for stop #3 on Wednesday night June 20th as Cliff, Peggy and the gang will welcome the ASCS troups to their beautiful speedway nestled among the pine trees of northern Minnesota.

ASCS National Race Director, Tommy Estes, Jr. is still trying to fill in another race for either Thursday June 21st, or Friday June 22nd and then the final event of our 2007 ASCS National Speedweeks will take place on Saturday night June 23rd at the Dakota State Fair Speedway in Huron, SD. You can bet that Orville and his bunch will have the big ½ mile Huron track in great shape as this looks to be one of the best sprint car events the fans in the Huron area will have ever seen.

The ASCS Northern Plains and Midwest regional seasons will then settle down with events just about every weekend thru the end of the summer at various race tracks thru-out the upper Midwest.

We will preview all the upcoming ASCS action in the weeks leading up to each and every race event in 2007.

**ASCS News and Notes**

ASCS Midwest teams, add Saturday July 7th to your ASCS Midwest regional schedule as Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, KS. has come on board.

Tommy Este, Jr. and his gang will be officiating this event as the ASCS Northern Plains crew will be busy up at the North Central Speedway in Brainerd, MN hosting the Annual Kouba Memorial Sprint Car Race on the same night.

For all the information on schedules, go to www.ascsracing.com or www.czpitpass.com

Don't forget to set your clocks (1) hour ahead this Sunday morning. Keep safe and get those last minute details ironed out as the ASCS race season is only days away…CZ

When trying to add a date mid-week to the schedule mentioned in the post above, it would be great to have one at Park Jefferson in North Sioux City. That is an awesome facility.

CZ, Have you heard who will be running either one of your regions for points? I know you had alot of diffrent cars last year but i was wondering how many are gonna try the whole schedule? The ASCS National Speedweek looks good I hope they have great turnouts. A National show sunday the 17th of june would be great for PJ. or Husets. I wish they"d try it Friday would be a long haul,K'ville is having 360's and midgets on that friday. If they turned that to a national ascs race that would be great. OK the last half of this was rambling, but please answer the first question please?

Thanks, Devin Heesch

Maxine,

We have held the "North vs South" 360 Sprint Car Shoot-out at Park Jefferson Speedway for the last few years, but the promoter decided against it for 2007. We tried, but no luck.

The "North vs South" 360 Sprint Car Shoot-out is now a (2) night race event to be held at the Crawford County Speedway in Denison, IA on Friday July 20th and then the final night Saturday July 21st at Eagle Raceway...CZ

Park Jefferson probably had the worst prepared track last year for the sprints in the entire country, maybe of all time.

Thanks z-man.  That is really crazy.   Park Jefferson is an awesome facility with the potential to draw crowds from South Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska.  What is the promoter thinking???!!!
