Are the contracted World of Outlaws full-time teams prohibited from or heavily discouraged to not run ASCoC and various Speedweek races that aren't WoO sanctioned? Aside from a couple exceptions during Florida Speedweeks in February, this never seems to happen, and it's weird that a WoO team or two didn't attempt any of the recent races in PA and OH with the limited schedule WoO is on.

Yes, the top drivers in the WOO are restricted on running outside of the WOO.    There is some form of exception process that you can go through which allows drivers to run some of the other shows.   However, it is not very often that you will see a top team doing anything else.

Before we get the conspiracy theories flowing,  it is a good thing for the Outlaws.   It is why their purses are always higher than every other series.

Dont know what you mean about " top woo teams" but all platinum members are prohibited from non woo events unless granted permission

Thanks for the answers. I understand the rationale, as it preserves the sense of elite top drivers that can only be seen at a WoO show. Was just curious whether it was an official requirement or informal.

In past years one of the exceptions given was if a track at a Woo date on the schedule. If that's still the case, woo teams should be able to run next weekend in PA as both the Grove and Port have dates in 2020.

Correct, Platinum members are only allowed to race at tracks that hold Outlaw races throughout the season; Outlaws will sometimes grant exceptions to the rule, the Front Row Challenge is an example to that. Also why the Outlaw teams only run at Volushia with the All-Stars and aren't able to run at East Bay Park becuase those events are after the Outlaws start their season and the Outlaws do not race their.

Sometimes you will see Outlaw teams make a stop at Knoxville on a Saturday night if the Outlaws cancelled their race early enough. Remember one night Shane Stewart and the Kahne cars rolled in right after wheel packing, unloaded, and made a couple adjustments just in time for hot laps and time trials.

I suspect it would reduce the AWE factor if they could just go anywhere like anyone. Also, its kind of humbling for the WoO to have their cars go off schedule, as if the WoO cant provide enough races or enough excitement that their platinum guys need to look elsewhere for racing opportunities . Keep the brand close at hand or lose its value.

Slightly different angle, can woo drivers hop into a 360 anytime they desire?

Can they drive a 410 that isnt Asscociated with the WoO?, like a family car. Or is the captive ruling for the driver more than the car?

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

This may have been part of the Jason Sides lawsuit a number of years back, as far as running another series

I could be wrong and someone who remembers better please correct me

The WOO brand is well protected. The merchandise is also protected. There are exceptions when they are given permission. In the old days it was run what you brung and where you wanted .THe Outlaw name is catchy but they have a  thick rule book and stick to it. The All Stars have made big strides since Stewart became involved but there is only one WOO.

Platinum drivers can only run WoO. It used to be, you could not run a track that had a scheduled WoO show for at least 7 days Pryor to the date of that show. They may have done away with that when they started the platinum deal because if your on that deal it carried extra perks.

Last I knew they could run at any track that had a WOO show scheduled that year on their off nights but I think it had to be a certain amount of miles away from the tracks they recently raced at and their next race, to keep tracks from piggybacking off the WOO dates. It could have changed though, seems like this rule changes every couple years.

I agree it is a good thing and a good business practice

I don't think this is correct.    Pittman, Schuchart and Jacob Allen all raced at BAPS about 8 months ago.       The last WoO race at Susquehanna Speedway (now BAPS) was over 25 years ago.

It is correct.  The Baps race is after the WoO season is over, so it does not apply.
