Sweet has won 4 since Donny's last and Donny has had several podium but a few out of the top ten. I dont know the point system well enough but is it mathematically possible for Sweet to finish 1st still?

Who thinks he can and who thinks he will?

Gravel is closer to sweet than sweet is to Schatz. He isn’t gaining much ground in those wins when Schatz is 2nd. I’m sure it could happen if Schatz doesn’t make the race the rest of the season and Sweet wins out but neither of those are going to happen

No chance gravel catches sweet but pittman might catch gravel. No sweet will not catch donny.

262 points with 6 races to go, 44 points per race. Sweet would have to win every race and Schatz would have to average 106 points or less which is about 22nd place in the WoO point system.

No way he catches him in reality. Granted, Sweet has the winning edge over the past several events, but Donny still shows that uncanny ability to get to the podium while starting mid-pack. And while Sweet has now put up his highest number of WoO Feature wins for a season, imo he still lacks the smoothness of Schatz. Schatz just never panics and seldom puts his car out over the edge. And while that defines him as a great driver, it also speaks volumes that he has total confidence in that car being the fastest car on the race track at race end. Sweet is learning more and more about how to win, and he has had a good handle on how to consistantly finish top five-top ten the past few years. So it's pretty obvious that if there is going to be a challenge to Schatz's title run, it's going to come from Sweet before it comes from anyone else. Maybe as soon as next year.

I agree with this. The past few years Sweet has had the handle in consistency with Top 5's and reducing poor finishes. Just needs to turn more of those top 5's into wins. Back 4-5 years ago I always had the opinion of him as a younger Joey Saldana driving style wise. Seemed like he would just put it up on the cushion and let it ride but the past couple years it seems he is able to make the car work low or high. I would say he will continue to improve year after year and hopefully able to put more pressure on Schatz each year. In a way he has flown under the radar a little bit with Schatz winning so much, Gravel's quick develoment, and even people thinking that Stewart would be a contender with how that team was formed. Each year looking at predictions for events like Kings Royal, Nationals, and the Open people always list Donny, Gravel, Larson, Stewart, various Posse members. Don't recall a whole lot of Brad Sweet predictions but that will probably change.

KKR now has 18 wins. Do these 2 teams share a crew? Would it be an advantage to just field one car and put the same money and resources in a single effort instead of splitting it?

I think Schatz is trying to finish 2nd every night. He knows its good for the sport and is sharing the money to encourage the less fortunate! Just a joke.
