I am a  Posse fan, but it is awesome to see on Twitter that Haase won the 360 feature at Knoxville tonight. Once I started learning about her last her year, I was blown away by how popular she is and how much she interacts with fans on social media. I asked people on here last year if they thought she could win in the Knoxville 360s. I don't see her race, but it is cool to see her win, given how accomodating she is to the fans.

Set a new feature track record also. Lowering the old mark by eight seconds.

Always nice to see a new winner and she is very popular with the fans. Not many tracks would have been able to race but the paved infield and Dunkins make the difference. IRA was a joke but Tonys attendance would have boosted attendance but dont think He was expected. The fast times indicate a heavy track that usually doesnt widen out much and make the starting spot key. Hate it when anyone gets hurt and equiptment gets junked but that is the risk when you sign in. The lower numbers this year indicate the costs are getting too high for some as to run with the Outlaws or ASCS when they come to town or the travelers that pick and chose you have the same expenses for motors. Dont know the answer but it needs to be looked at. Knoxville is the sprint car capitol of the world for a reason and what they do has influence even to the WOO. Ralph was a true ambasador and when he decided to make the weight 1200# they adapted.

You're absolutely correct that Knoxville has enough influence to push the WoO to change rules to try to save money.

If Knoxville announced the following changes to take effect in the 2020 season for all shows at Knoxville including the Nationals you can bet your hiney that the WoO would want to come to the table and talk about rule changes.  If the WoO doesn't want to come to the table they don't have to come to the most prestigous highest paying sprint car race in the world, it will go on without them.

1) Smaller (narrower) rear wheels (L & R)

2) Rock hard (think 100,000 mile car tire for hardness) spec tires (L&R), only 1 size available for the RR any changes for stagger has to happen on the left side.      Best weekly racing I've ever seen was back when Huset's was running that rock hard American Racer right rear in the late 90's early 00's.   Track would look like glass top to bottom but it NEVER took rubber.

3) Smaller side panels (take 6" of height off of each side, should have minimal affect on appearance) on the wings and put restrictions on wing angles.  Limit the maximum angle that the top of the wing can run.

I know none of these thing is the cost problem, but they are all related to hooking the cost problem to the track.  If you unhook the cars you reduce the need to constantly speed more $'s to get more hp.   Everyone is always worried about making parts (wheels and wings) obsolete through stricter rules but everytime someone comes out with new engine parts that produce more HP that effectively makes 100's of existing engines obsolete.   Engines are where most of the increase in expense has come from over the last 20-30 yrs.     Get rid of the need for 900 hp and they just might be able to go back to running a "sprint" (no fuel stop) for the Nationals A main.

Knoxville is one of the few tracks (possibly only track that could do so) that has any power to stand up to the WoO on its own.   They need to act before they're down to 12 car A-Mains for weekly shows.     And they need to do the same things to the 360 class as well.     I really don't want to ever see the "Sprint Car Capital of the World" start adding more "support" classes because of low and continually falling car counts in the current 3 classes.

Knoxville is also one of the few tracks that could afford to hand out some new parts (to their regulars) to replace the parts (wheels and side panels) that are forced into obsolescence.   Start handing out the new parts at this years postseason awards banquet.

Great to see McKenna Haase win the 360 main event at Knoxville last Saturday. She is a very postive role model for the sport. Started corresponding with her after she won her first 305 feature in 2015. Got some photos from Knoxville's Conrad Nelson to use in my speedway column in the local newspaper. Both were very helpful. McKenna was thrilled to get some publicity all the way from Western Australia. Hope in a few years time we will be hearing she won the 410 main event as well. Go McKenna Haase.

By my way of thinking, If Knoxville took a stand like that, the PA tracks and others would probably climb on board, also. A uniform set of rules that cuts pretty deeply into the primary cost problem (engines) would also more than likely help the WoO tour. That tour doesn't need to exist with only 4-6 teams in the chase. I actually think that is a negative factor. Yeh it's always been like that, Kinser days now Schatz days, but maybe that's what needs to be changed for growth on the tour, also. Open it up some!

I think you're correct that if a track with some prestige and power (think Knoxville, Eldora or WG) took a stand other tracks would jump on board fast.

I'd have to think that Jackson would follow Knoxville almost instantly.

One thing that has really stuck out to me from following Twitter over the past 24 hours is how much publicity she has received from local Iowa television. I am not saying that in a negative way. Obviously, it is an awesome accomplishment and she is extremely outgoing. But the local media in Iowa really seems to embrace the accomplishment. Here at the Posse tracks, when females have won in the past, it has not received nearly the same kind of coverage from non-racing media outlets.

If anything, all three of those major tracks would need to get together and the WoO would listen.  What are the chances it could happen?  Probably slim, but I definetly think it would work.

I can understand why she is big news in Iowa.   I think other big news that comes from the race track sometimes makes the news in Des Moines.   Maybe someone who lives there can verify that for us?    My biggest fear with MacKenna is that we could lose her to the NASCAR world.  She's very cute and seems to have a outgoing and friendly personality.   Marketing wise she'd be a NASCAR owner's dream, and unlike Danica she has the talent to actually compete.

I have no idea if Mckenna has the talent or desire to compete in the Nascar world.

What I do know is that there is good reason that she gets a lot of attention at Knoxville. She can wheel a sprint car and she is possibly the most outgoing and friendly sprint car driver I've ever talked to.   Kids flock to her and she loves to interact with them.   In short, sprint car racing needs more drivers like her to help build the future fans base.

She does an excellent job of representing her sponsors both with her on track performance and through her interaction with fans both at the track and at sponsor appearances.

Congrats to Mckenna and her whole team.
