1) They announced during WoO race at one point that from there on, due to track conditions, all restarts would be single file. What were the track conditions & why would that change restart rules?

2) During the POWRi race, tires were blowing out constantly. During WoO, very few if any (don't remember for sure) Why would that be?

Reason for single file is the bottom lane had taken rubber and was so much faster and had so much advantage over outside lane. And I noticed the midget left rear thing too. The track was pretty abrasive all night and I guess the left rears were to soft. Im not around poweri much so i dont know much about thier tires.

EasyE is correct about the reason for the single file restarts.  As for the tires, just a guess here:  The midgets went out on a freshly re-worked track, and put on soft tires, not expecting the track to be as abrasive so quickly.  The sprint cars, having watched the midget race, chose (for the most part) harder tires.

Pevely is a great track and my favorite for winged sprint cars, but the last 2 WoO races there the track has rubbered up badly. They should have run the sprints first last night, and they need to adjust the time when they do track prep as they usually do at least an hour during the night and it hasn’t helped the a main the last 2 times.

They put quite a few loads of new dirt on the track over the winter and haven't had any cars at all on the track yet due to the weather/ rainouts was the reason for keeping the track so tight last night. Didn' want to risk track getting rough. Tires are cheaper than shocks, wings ,chassis......

Last evening was not a good night for Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55.   I know they were obviously trying their best with the track but I agree with the poster, definitely should have run sprints first.   Couldn’t believe how many fans left before.  Of course it was past midnight.  Running races that late is not good for business

Would agree they should have run sprints first after the track work.  The crappy spring in the Midwest and a windy day and new dirt didn’t help their cause any.  Races were good until the feature.
