Nascar should feel pretty good.  It's possible they sold more tickets to the Bristol spring race than Knoxville sold for the Wednesday night qualifier of the Knoxville Nationals.

Weather is an issue but not a lot of people in the stands.Conscessions will be tough as I would guess they hoped for a full house. April weather in the midwest is a crapshoot. Anytime the temp is in the 50s or less hard to get a crowd. The WOO hasnt had a lot of luck with weather so far. TV coverage is key with the advertisers and helps bottom line.

I remember my parents being put on waiting lists for Bristol and several other tracks back in the mid to late 90s . Now you don't even need to buy Tix ahead of time and just buy them at the gate. What you get when the racing is terrible, you ruin your tracks, alienate your fanbase with a crappy championship system, price gauge fans & sponsors, and try to manufacture excitement with restarts caused by "debris". If I wanted to watch something that is crappy and fake I'll just watch WWE

WWE may be fake, but it’s 100 times more exciting than NASCAR, then again so is watching grass grow.

I'll agree on that but then again Nascar isn't setting the bar too high. And this is coming from a former Nascar "mark" who would watch Busch & cup races from start to finish. I use to collect all the die cast when I was a kid, obsess about watching all the races. When I was old enough to drive and have a job I went to about 3 race s a year.

Now I haven't been to race since 2012, and haven't watched since last Richmond race. Ill watch the highlights and that's all which only takes about a minute and a half

I agree with most of what you're saying here except for Bristol.  This was the most exciting race on the circuit.  Then whoever the geniuses are said "Hey we have the most exciting track and show, lets fix it."  Once they did the repave in 06 or 07 they took all the excitement out of it.  I think even with the struggling ratings Bristol would've always been a good race that people wanted to see.  Kind of sad but these days I think the most exciting races are the road coarses.

Agreed.  Although, Bristol is closer to getting back to the old Bristol vs. the repave Bristol.  You are correct though, they killed it.  I don't know who the genius was that presented that idea back then, but I hope they are running concessions now instead of making racing decisions.  I hope the powers that be know they cost them 100's of millions of dollars over the last 10-12 years. (along with the COT designer)  Assuming the conversaion went something like this:  "hey, I know we've been selling 140,000+ seats twice per year for the last 10 years, but you know what this place needs?  A new racing surface"

Reason I haven't gone to a NASCAR race since 2001

Saw a tweet of the Canadian driver's hood displaying the Humboldt Bronco hockey team logo. Appreciate that. They were on their way to play againt my local hockey team.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!
