There are three big shows this Saturday--- All Stars at Eldora, Woo at Lernerville, and the Dirt Classic at Lincoln for the Central Pa guys. Will there be enough cars to go around? What show are you going to? I like Lernerville and The Woo. What say you?

There will be plenty of cars to go around.  Last year there were 37 at Eldora, 36 at Lernerville & 48 at Lincoln.  I'll be at Lincoln, but you can't go wrong at any of the shows.  I think Lernerville will be the lowest.  There's also a $2500 to-win OVSCA Sprint race at Wayne County in Ohio.

I will also be at Lincoln. I am thinking with the outsiders said to be  coming in , somewhere between 50-55 cars.

So the guy from Saskatchewan asks if you live in the middle of all 3 of these tracks how far do you have to drive to get to each one from your home?

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

I actually live right at the PA/OH state line.  Lincoln & Eldora are both 4 hours for me.  Lernerville is less than an hour.  I can go east and catch 3 special shows at Susquehanna, Williams Grove & Lincoln this weekend.

"Allstars at Eldora"??? How about calling it the 4 Crown, USAC sprints, midgets & Silver Crown also? Thats where I'd be if I was anywhere East of the Mississsippi.... also WoO on Friday

can't miss on any of those shows. 4 crown will have the largest event only because of all the classes being run, and if your a fan of wingless racing it will be the place to be. WoO at lernerville, you no what you'll get there also, some of the all star guys may show up for that one. Lincoln, posse land, will probably in my opinion be the best racing and the most cars. (sprint cars)

Same thing came up last year and mudclods notes the numbers here.  Lincoln will be the best "show" with the most cars and some exciting invaders not normally seen in PA - Brownie, TMac, TK, etc.  Last year I was pleasantly surprised Lville got 36 cars, but when I went back just now and looked at the roster, well let's just say it was top heavy.  But I remember standing/working in the pits last year and thinking wow 36 here and 48 at Lincoln, those are good turnouts.

I have mixed emotions about the scheduling of these 3 events within a relative close proximity.  While the overall distance between the 3 tracks at around 7 hours (Eldora to Lincoln), having 3 pretty significant races on one night has its positives and negatives.

Drivers:  It may depleat the field some at the tracks if not keep down the quality and as a result increase the chances of some                         local drivers making a little money.  You will definitely be utilizing the local talent available.  (Central drivers at Lincoln, West               Pa drivers at Lernerville, and Ohio drivers at Eldora)  But at the same time it limits quite a few drivers of only being able to                 attend 1 race.  It is always great to give the drivers (especially those that earn a living at racing) a chance to race as much                 as possible.

Promoters:  It may have an effect on the bottom line as to how many people come through the gate.  We all know that the Central fans as well as the Eldora fans are very dedicated to their drivers and those particular tracks.  As a Lernerville attendee, I worry about the attendance at the Action Track.

Fans:  I know that when I attend a special event race (World of Outlaws, All Star Circuit of Champions, or a high dollar local show) I want to see the best  and hopefully as many of the best as possible.  There is nothing like 50 + cars with the best talent going after it in the heat races as well as the last chance races.

Bottom line....I will be at Lernerville no matter what the schedule is and I hope all 3 shows get a great turn-out.  Not many chances left to see good racing regardless of the names in attendance.

40 cars at Eldora tonight as of 415.

Its a good weekend for all, and really shows the strength of PA and Ohio sprint car scene that we can have 3 good shows in  400 mile radius

Not sure where you guys figure its 400 miles and 7 hours to Eldora from Lincoln? I've made that trip dozens of times in the 80's and 90's. I made it a couple of times in 7 1/2  hours but I was going well over the speed limit to do so. Its always been 500 miles from New Oxford, PA to Eldora and I really don't think that has changed, usually took me about 8 to 9 hours to get there. I know 100 miles may not seem like much but it can add 90 min. to the drive. Mapquest is fairly accurate.

Well, I guess it's time to trade in that Yugo!!  Was not really expecting a discussion on mileage and hours, but I can tell you this.  I am from the Pittsburgh are and have made the trip to each track in about 3 1/2 hours.  If you want it to be 8 hours, take it, it's yours.  Your right!!  Feels good, huh!

Not sure what you mean by "feels good, huh". I was just stating my driving times from New Oxford PA to Eldora, look it up on mapquest, its 505 miles. I guess you never run into road construction or ever stop to get gas or take a break during your travels either. You  the man!  BTW I do feel good, how about you.

I mean it feels good to be right.  How am I?  Not so good because I was not right.  I just can't believe out of everything in my post you choose to focus on whether it is 7 or 8 hours In driving time.  How about at least something about what the thread is about?

You know how some of the posts on these threads can stray from the topic once in a while, I guess I'll plead guilty. Seems like all of the tracks will have decent car counts, the fans and the promoters will be happy. Enjoy your race at Lernerville.

Only 29 at Lernerville. Wayne County seems to have had a good turnout for their show

37 cars at Lincoln for a 20k to win show in the heart of Posse country? Drivers must really hate the double heat format.
