ROA PREPARED FOR ONE OF THE BIGGEST USAC/CRA RACES OF HIS CAREER SATURDAY AT PERRIS!
(Buena Park, CA, August 23, 2017) Fresh off his win three weeks ago at the Santa Maria Raceway, Brody Roa is prepared for on the biggest races in his USAC/CRA career this Saturday night, August 26th, at the “California Racer’s Hall of Fame Night” at Perris Auto Speedway. Heading into the event, Roa is a mere four-points out of the lead in the Championship standings.
Throughout most of the 2017 campaign, Roa, 26 of Garden Grove, California, has manned second in the USAC/CRA point standings. The difference between himself and the lead has seesawed back and forth, but the four-point deficit is the smallest it has been all year long. Another fine finish on Saturday could propel Roa into the point lead heading into the grueling “California Sprint Week” which begins on Labor Day weekend and is comprised of six races in eight days on five different tracks.
Saturday’s race at Perris will be the sixth of the year on the Riverside County clay oval. In the first five, Roa has recorded a second-place finish, two third & two fifth place finishes and one seventh. The seventh-place finish, which came on June 24th, was Roa’s worst finish in the entire USAC/CRA Series in 2017, but was also one of his most impressive races. In that one, he and another car crashed in the early stages of the 30-lapper. Roa was able make hasty repairs and restart at the back of the field. In a bent racecar, he drove all the way back for a hard earned seventh place finish.
Since returning from Indiana Sprint Week in the middle of July, Roa and the B.R. Performance team have only had two races. A fifth place finish at Perris on July 22nd and the win at Santa Maria on August 5th. The break in the action has allowed the driver and team to prepare for Saturday’s big race and the always demanding sprint week schedule in Northern and Central California.
The team will have its good-looking shirts in the pits at the August 26th Perris race and throughout “California Sprint Week.” Cost will be $20.00. For those who cannot attend, the shirts are available by mail for $20.00 plus $7.00 shipping in the USA (foreign countries contact for shipping costs).
