MSCS TO COMPETE TWICE IN INDIANA THE WEEKEND OF AUGUST 11TH & 12TH

Haubstadt, IN - August 8, 2017 -  The Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car
Series will be racing at the Shadyhill Speedway near Medaryville, IN
and at the Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, IN, on Friday night
August 11th and Saturday night August 12th.  These two races will
complete the schedule for the series in August.  It is time to begin
the season countdown and it begins with this upcoming race at
Shadyhill Speedway.  There are just five races left on the season
schedule.  It is 5 - 4 in August, then 3 - 2 in September, and the
finally - 1 - in October!
Shadyhill Speedway is a 1/4 mile semi banked oval and Lincoln Park
Speedway is a 5/16th mile high banked facility. The Shadyhill
appearance is the first ever at the track for the MSCS Sprints.
Billy Alger is the promoter there.  The race the next night at
Lincoln Park Speedway commemorates an August date in 2011 that the
MSCS series made its return to Putnamville.  The Series has appeared
on Joe Spiker’s track schedule 20 exciting times since.
The feature winner will receive $2,000 on Friday and $3,000 on
Saturday.  Drivers will be shooting for a max of $5,000 of feature
prize money.  Both shows pay $200 to start the feature.
MSCS last raced at Lincoln Park Speedway on July 1st of this year.
The winner of the $3,000 that night was Kevin Thomas Jr.  Thomas just
won the Hoosier Sprint Nationals this past weekend at Tri-State
Speedway.  Both those victories were in his familiar 9K sprinter!
A.J. Hopkins won the August “Return to” event at Lincoln Park
Speedway last season.  A.J. also won the feature when MSCS raced at
Putnamville in May this season.
Other previous “Return to Putnamville” winners include Brady Short
(twice), Robert Ballou, Kyle Cummins, and Casey Shuman.  The MSCS
season points standings have changed based on the August 5th results.
Brady Short now leads in the title chase.  He now has a slight lead
over Carson Short who experienced an unfortunate accident during the
Hoosier Sprint Nationals.
Rookie drivers are also looking at the upcoming Countdown Races for
opportunities to advance their goal of becoming the next MSCS Rookie
of the Year.  Shadyhill Speedway will certainly present a neutral
site to compete at.  Kendall Ruble of Vincennes, IN, leads the pack
of seven rookies with a count of 335 points.  Ben Knight is just 35
points back.  Stephen Schnapf and Garrett Aitken are aggressively
moving up in the standings to also become contenders!
Shadyhill Speedway is located 8 miles south of North Judson, IN.  The
track can be reached by using State Route 39 to reach 10554 County
Road W 300 N.   Hot laps are at 7 P.M. with racing to follow.  The
Friday night event should give fans an added opportunity to attend a
track that usually races on Saturday and see the 410 MSCS Non-Wing
Sprints plus fireworks!
Lincoln Park Speedway is located along West U.S. Hwy. 40 at
Putnamville, IN.  Racing begins at 7 P.M.  Hot laps and group
qualifying are set to happen at 6 P.M.  Drivers are reminded that the
pill draw will close at 5:15 P.M.  All times are E.D.T.
