Finally got to posting about last night's WOO show at Wilmot.  It was only my second trip to this track.  The first time was for the All-Stars/IRA a few years back for what was a pretty good show.  40 cars or so and a good race.  Nothing happened real memorable during the race that makes it stick out in my mind.  This time around was about 30 410's (never did hear the exact count).  Walked into the stands to sit down and my first thought was "this track is going to be a dust bowl".  It just didn't look like they had anywhere near enough water laid down.  I don't care how much water they laid down, but don't change a thing!  That was one of the best WOO A-mains I have witnessed!   While there was a little dust flying, it was nothing that I couldn't handle.  For that kind of racing, I'll eat some dirt!

David is only 3 wins away from my mid-2016 prediction of 15 wins for this year.  Someone even mentioned the possibility of 20 wins.  Not out of the question.  (my prediction of a championship however, is unlikely but one never knows)

On a side note, the wingless class they have put together over the last couple of years was really entertaining.  I could handle watching a weekly show like that.

Great catching up with Maddog, Stealth87 and Larryitis and meeting a few new race fans.

Wilmot is often heavily criticized, but they knocked it out the park last night. After a long time of nothing going on with the track, they have done quite a bit of work the last few years. It seems to have paid off. They've brought in new clay/dirt at least a couple times, bought a scoreboard, built a new concession stand, removed a top row of concrete blocks on the backstretch (placed them in the infield instead, totally redid said infield and built up a berm along the inside of both turns, built a victory lane that fans can be right near while racing continues, etc. It's a great track, I've often felt that the racing I saw there was decent, better than the general opinion I would hear from most people. They have a long history of booking a wide variety of sanctioning bodies, and it's definitely a major open wheel track in this area. It's the original home of the IRA. Happy to see that it's trending in the right direction. Definitely helps that the weather was excellent! You're right about the track yesterday Sarge, it was prepped perfectly. Looking forward to seeing you guys again in less than 2 weeks for the big show...

Just watched the replay on YouTube and it looked like a heck of a race!! The racing the last few weeks have looked like a lot of passing! Great for the fans, with all the talk of dirty air and follow the leader races! Can't wait for KnoxvilleSmile

Wisconsin has a very underrated sprint car scene. Good to see a packed house and some really good racing.

It was a great night.  Started with a great tailgate with a bunch of Hosers, some Family sprinkled in, good food and BEER.  In all my years going to Wilmot, near 55, I do not think I have ever seen it as crowded.  It was a great sight.  A little fire after the race calmed things down a little and was a fitting end to a great show.  I want to thank all my buddies that came out, egras and son, larryitis and his buddies, stealth87 and friends, faily members that showed up.  It was a great day.  Track was awesome and so was the race.  I can't wait until my cherry popping trip to Knoxville in 2 weeks.  Thanks egras
