I was just wondering how that works if the driver is unable to clear customs going into Canada?  Does the team get another Medical exemption?  Anyone know?

I believe that a DUI would also keep someone from crossing the border. And I highly doubt that he has one of those, either. Speculation is usually a good thing in this sport, but this has gotten silly fairly quickly.

I think the creator of the thread was looking for some input as to how the WoO classifies the lack of attendance. As Platinum members are they not expected to attend every event unless they are not healthy enough to partake. If they can't cross a border and they are healthy does it get some special treatment by the WoO that makes it OK in their eyes. I can't dspeak for the original poster but that seems to be what he is asking to me.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Why is it a stupid post? Felony or DUI and no entrance into Canada. Can you tell me why else one wouldn't be allowed into Canada?

One couldn't get into Canada if they didn't have a passport.

I have traveled to many foreign countries and Canada was by far the most difficult one to enter.

Used to travel to Canada quite often as a kid/teen for travel hockey.  Like several times a month.  I always remember how much harder it was to get into Canada - more questions, etc. (always friendly though especially when they knew we were going for hockey).  Got randomly pulled over several times.  Asked lots of questions.  My parents always made us sit up straight when going into Canada.  And this was in the 90s.  Coming back into the US, was like one question "you're fine, go ahead."  Always struck me how much easier or lax it was to get back into the USA.  I guess it's because we're US Citizens, but still.

Also traveled to Europe to play hockey as a teen and was scared crapless when we flew into Frankfurt and the people checking our passports were German soliders with AKs strapped to their back...yeah that was nerve-racking.

I think some of you perfect people need to take a look in the mirror and worry about your own life instead of everyone else's.

Does casting Innuendo's make you feel better about some of your crappy decisions in life?

George Bush was allowed into Canada with a DUI on his record, lol.  I am a Canadian and been to a half dozen countries and my home country is still the toughest one to get back in to.  In my almost 20 years living in the good ol' USA I crossed the border hundreds of times and none of them caused me any grief but I was certainly nervous on about every trip and I wasn't even smuggling booze....

I have a well stamped passport.  I have experienced more time delays, rude custom officials, long lines, and other difficulties re-entering the US than Canada, Mexico, and Europe.  Immigration and customs is the worst in Philadelphia.  I will pay extra to fly into any port of entry other than Philadelphia.

Thank you very much.  That was exactly what I was asking.  I see that after last nights racing event that the 17W team was awarded team points so apparently they did qualify for something.  I am not sure if the car was actually in attendance or not, but the team did recieve 50 points for some reason or another.  Either way, I was just looking for some clarification as to how the whole deal works.

Canadians will put up with porn at the family restaurant, the candy isle being bigger than the rest of the grocery store and alfredo for breakfast but big Ford dealers sponsoring chevies are more than they can handleSmile

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Could be as simple as not having a passport with him. It wasn't all that long ago that you didnt need a passport (6-7 ish years?) to get into Canada. You only needed a valid driver's license and *sometimes* a valid copy of a birth certificate. Not anymore. If he's a person that does not travel up there much, it would be an easy oversight.
