Congrats to Kasey on his Brickyard 400! It was nice to finally see him drive aggressively at the end of the race.

The track isn't suited very well for stock cars. Too narrow. I've went to multiple Brickyards (live nearby) and I was bored out of my mind every time. The atmosphere of Indy is what makes the race special.

I didn't understand all of the blocking. They weren't even blocking to hold the lead, they were blocking to hold like 13th position. I dont know what it was about yesterday, the drivers lost their heads.

That being said, I was glad to see a guy win that has always given back to the sport we love.

Agreed with the blocking. That was ridiculous and about 99% of it was un-needed and dangerous. More cars were damaged yesterday than at Talladega or Daytona. I have always been one for hard nosed, don't give anyone anything make them take it racing but like you said, blocking for 13th with more than 100laps to go is hard to understand.

Sadly the more I watch Nascar the more I think they need to go to a no blocking policy. It is what causes more scary crashes than anything and typically the guys who get taken out are not even part of the battle for position. They are just simply a victim of circumstance. Indy Car does not allow blocking and I have been watching more of those races than I have ever before because the racing seems better now.

I was glad to see Kasey get a win at Indy cause I know that place means a lot to him and to all sprint car guys but its sad to see what that race has become. I remember when I was a kid my parents called to try to get tickets back in the 90's and had to be put on a wait list and they said it may take 3-5 years to get tickets. Went in 2001 and the place was packed but now you can just walk right up before the race and buy tickets.

I just saw the highlights.....

1. Good lord, and they (whoever "they" is) call these guys the best drivers "in the world"?

2. Looked like there was about 100 people in the stands.

3. I am happy for Kasey Kahne - sprint car guy who supports our sport. Puts him in the Chase, and maybe keeps him at Hendrick.

4. Bummer for Larson. In the interview afterwards, that's the most frustrated/angry I've ever seen him. Still didn't throw Dillon under the bus though, could have but didn't.

5. Will this race even survive? Moving it to September next year will help a little maybe, but not save it. Before yesterday, I thought using restrictor plates may be the answer, but after yesterday, restrictor plates probably would have resulted in complete destruction. I believe they tried restricting them for the Sat Xfinity race - don't know how that turned out.

Thoughts?

2. I told my wife there used to be more fans in the seats for practice. I rememeber watching Indy 500 practice (mid 90's) in freezing cold wet weather with more people in the stands.

3. +1

4. Wish he would've taken out Johnson. I don't know what Jimmie's problem is?

5. I didn't watch but heard from a friend that the xfinity race was much improved.

Blocking in racing just doesn't belong! But then, the idiots that control NASCAR also have a playoff, so doing and allowing stupid shit is in their "jeans". And drivers that block, aren't racers! I quit watching and paying much attention years ago!

Thats the reason no one was in the stands sunday. I watch the indy 500 back in may and the place was packed.
