I know many of you will be heading to southern Iowa in a few weeks so thought you may be interested to know that Robert Bell from Colfax, IA, is hosting a $3k to win midget race in Indianola, West of Knoxville about 30 miles on Tuesday of Nationals week to complete the 10 straight days of the best time of the year.

I have no affiliation with Robert Bell other than being a fan of his, but you can find more info on facebook by looking up Bell Motorsports on facebook, or www.cometclassic.com.

already bought my tickets.  Sounds like a good group of drivers coming as well (Dave Darland and Rico Abreu to name a couple) and I'm sure anyone headed back from Belleville will have it on their schedule.

Hmmmm. I might have to check that out. Nothing else to do on Tuesday.... What's the track and grandstand situation? Small? Large?

Vande77; how did you purchase your tickets? I've checked periodically on the website and it says, info available soon, regarding tickets.

Hope this event is a success! If there was another midget or wingless sprint car race Sunday and/or Monday that would be a great week of racing.

I know you specifically mention midget or wingless but the Capitani Classic is Sunday and Osky Front Row Challenge is Monday.  Might not be exactly what you're looking for but those make a pretty complete week of racing in the area.

This is awesome. I'm gonna check it out. Heading down a bit earlier for the Cappy classic and Oskie races this year. Having a race on Tues will be cool. I've never actually been to a midget so this'll be my first.

The wingless cars at Osky were a lot of fun as was USAC at Knoxville. Two more days of winged cars on fast half miles just doesn't hold my interest any longer. Looking forward to the Nationals though and hoping the midget race is a big hit so I can take an extra day off and hit that one next year.

Had more fans showed up in the stands at those races they'd probably still be on the calendar.

USAC returned to Knoxville earlier this year and was greeted by a crowd at least double of that that showed when they ran during Nationals week.

Maybe they just needed more time? Excellent news about the crowd for USAC at Knoxville. I was thinking maybe the WAR series would be a good way to reintroduce wingless racing at the Cappy race and then possible Osky? I know those guys work just like me though so probably just wishful thinking.

different fanbases by looking at hte faces in the crowd.

pretty obvious that the % of fans coming to the Nationals that will go to non-wing race is very low % wise.

Having a stand alone event (on a Saturday night) brought in a great crowd.  helped that 32 cars made the trip so they had a full field too.
