I am a Posse fan although I am not from PA, however last night, sitting up in turn 4 after the race was a lesson in that ugly vocal minority that give PA fans a bad name.

There were a "small" number  sitting behind me who were booing loudly....one guy yelled "go back to Washington" and another grandstand racer loudly claimed that he could have one the race if he got to start on the pole (although with the track that fast, I am sure he wouldn't have been winning as much as crapping his pants).   While I love seeing the posse guys beat the Outlaws and think the rivalry is great for racing, I found some satisfaction in the fact that they were so upset because so far in the 7 races of the PA Speedweek 4 of them have been won by outsiders (even last night was a PA car).   Whatever else you want to say....Starks is a gasser who has gotten better and better every time he has ventured into the Posse pond.

I am not arguing the rain, or the heavy track, or even the penalty at the beginning of the race...just the reaction of the fans.

I am a PA Posse fan but I love it when outsiders come in and whoop their asses!..  The locals run these tracks week in and week out and they should be the ones whooping ass.  Especially really loved how Larson (who only has had a couple of starts here before) kicked their asses.  Yes it is very unfortunate how the Pa fans act sometimes.  If I had to guess they were probably Lance fans.  Track to heavy and fast for the Dream Team.

When was the last time the Posse has been beaten this much so early in the year? With the Outlaw sweep, Larson winning 3 and now Starks, that's 7 wins in central pa for "outsiders".

They booed.... big deal. As long as they don't throw beer cans, thats unacceptable. I wouldn't boo a good race tho

I prefer enthusiasm to passivity

Today I'm in Kokomo for Indiana Sprint Week (wingless) People here say "excuse me" if they come within 5 ft. of you.... everybody's different

Last nite was a rainout at Gas City, today is beautiful. Hope tomorrow at Lawrenceburg is nice too, I'd hate to drive this far for one race

They need to change that rule where they penalize both drivers on the front row because 1 of them jumped.

I don't have a problem with booing in general....but I bet that the ones that were doing it couldn't tell you why they were doing it except that Starks wasn't from PA.  Kid won his first and biggest race ever, I'm not exactly sure what there was to boo, but to each their own.

What was more funny were the comments, especially the ones trying to make it out like the win was a fluke and no big deal.  ANyone who has watched Starks lately in the Gobrecht car knows it wasn't a fluke, and winning the Mitch Smith in PA is a big deal, no matter how it happens.  I should have turned around to ask them why they were so mad, I'm sure the answers would have been enlightening.

Have fun at ISW, hope you get some races it.  That is on the bucket list for sure at some point.

Pennsyltuckey fans are a bit different than Indiana fans, lots of passion in both areas but the IN fans seem more civil. Have fun at Kokomo and The Burg, wish I was out there.

i agree 100% with your comment.  the pole setter sets the pace, the outside car needs to keep up with that pace, no excuses!  it use to be that way, what happened?

Starks IS a gasser, has talent, and I'm sure he took the PA ride just so he could keep learning and racing 410's with some fast company.

I am from WA, and we would love him back. He's a great racer, a nice young man, and when he's in the family car or the Rutz 8R he is always a threat to win.

Give the guy the credit and respect he deserves, he's out racing around getting great experience wherever they unload. I was at the World Finals awhile back and didn't see all that many Posse guys there,,,but I saw Trey Starks!

To the booing naysayers,,get a Life

Agreed... I've never booed a sprint car driver yet

There are dumb asses everywhere, if they boo, so be it, they just makes themselves look stupid
