The 17 is back tonight at Cedar Lake.  Jac Haudenschild is still the driver.  He's been cleared to race again.

3 races.. -41 in positions so far.

Agreed... and it's not a surprise honestly. I think alot of people understand it wasn't the driver... except the ones making the ultimate decision. Sucks.

If you watched the last 2 races when Joey ran, the car was out to lunch in the feature. Same thing happened tonight as when Joey was in the car and this happened more I was just pointing out the last 2 races he ran. The car was always fast in time trials and heat race action but no results In the feature. Makes me seem that it's not the driver as we all know Joey is a wheelman as is Jac. I think before they let Joey go they should have looked at more than the driver. They changed chassis same result, so I think they seriously need to make some changes to that team. Obviously they don't have the part of the race that counts figured out on the setup side of things. Just my opinion!

I wish Joey could get in Pittmans car. Joey can drive as good as anyone not named Donnie.

that team needs Sammy to wrench and help turn things around while Jac drives at the Kings Royal  where if Jac had good equipment and a wrench would probably win that race cause Eldora is Jac's home

other than not winning and running up front in the features, in there first full year as a team, I have a suspision this had more to do with the inner workings of the team NOT the driver, JMO

top ten in points half way threw there first full time season and you get fired and replaced with Jac sorry but something smells a bit fishy with this team right now. It's to bad, cause I realy like this team but something isn't right behind the scenes.

any chance this could be a similar situation to the BBW 82, crew chief/owner?? Just curious

Sammy ain't gonna turn that one around, especially as a setup guy.   Sammy has been out to lunch himself in 410 racing ever since the WoO went back to Hoosier tires.   His rides have done the same thing the 17 has been doing.  Fast in time trials, not fast on dry slick.

Beyond that though, it makes perfect sense.   I'm sure Sammy sitting by the phone hoping this teams calls him because I'm sure his real dream is to be Haudenschild's mechanic...

Who do you think drove Pittman's car before Pittman drove it?

Very much resembles the Destiny team. That team wasn't all that good on the All Star circuit, yet they thought they could compete with the WoO. Now the #17.....was good at the local level, but should have been near invincible at that level even against good competition if the thought was they could compete with the WoO. Doesn't matter how much money is thrown at a car, or who becomes a part owner. The Buffalo Wild Wings car is another example as we know. A decent car and decent budget, that has had a series of good drivers and falls short of expectations. The days of a driver carrying a car more than occasionally are gone. So teams like these need to first figure out WHAT they are putting on the track, before they blame WHO they are putting on the track.

It isn't that simple.  Every driver has a "feel" they are looking for.  A setup that works for driver A may not be comfortable to driver B thus they aren't as fast.

If with after one drive and one success you are able to give all the credit to a driver, then I guess in your mind the blame would be on all the drivers. Was it the same car? Same team members?......I thought it was a stable car or backup. I don't recall quite honestly....

for the people commenting on larson winning in a car saldana cant. My opinon is larson has nothing to lose and everything to gain doing what he does and its great to watch. But its hard to knock on Saldana for Larson winning in his backup. Saldana has been on the grind day in day out with outlaws working on things and thinking about how to make the car better im sure, where larson jumps in and doesnt care if he only brings the steering wheel back. Just because Larson won in the car doesnt mean the team is anywhere close to where it needs to be.
