Between the truck race last night, and 30 laps into the Xfinity race......holy crap. Some serious carnage so far.

That's what happens when you give a bunch of children race cars and put them on a superspeedway at almost 200 mph

Definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results

Fans love restrictor plate racing, drivers, team owners, hard core race fans tolerate it at best.  Drivers and Teams have no choice, its a huge money maker for Nascar.  As u can tell, not a fan, I wonder how much of the years budget is spent for the 4 demo derby's plus the clash and thursday's races?

Anyway, sprint car season starts next week at PAS (So Cal) for usac, and I guess Nascar starts their real racing season too.

cheers

Been invloved in racing from driver ,owner, sponser and fan and have never liked wrecking.Restrictor racing is just like freeway driving on ice.I admit I do watch the last 50 laps of most NASCAR races unless there is something better to do.But its not if but when they wreck and bumping from behind to pass is not racing and  I dont like it.Nascar has lost a lot of fans but it is still where the money is for up and coming drivers.I liked Earnhart but didnt care for some of his tactics.Give me a driver that can start in 17th or farther back and win a race cleanly over bumper cars everyday. My self my years ago when top cars started 12th or even farther back it was more fun to watch or drive toward the front even if you dont win.Too many sprint races are won by draw in dash.Start the top ones up front and they usually win start them back aways and they can still win but not a sure bet.

Its not racing. Larson down there is like a bazooka in a knife fight.  I should be ashamed for even commenting on the lunacy.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

He actually pulled off what almost looked like a slide job at Daytona.  What?  Did you see that $hit?  For 3rd place?

That being said, If he didn't have bad luck, he would have no luck at all.  I thought he had it all sewn up.

I told my wife I wasn't going to turn it on until less than 1/3 of the race was left.  When I did-----less than a 1/3 of the cars were left!

First two segments were clean (I like the change to the format]....shit started hitting the fan in the last segment. McMurray didn't make many friends today.

I thought the same thing....Larson put a slider for third, then another nice move to take the lead. Had he not run out of gas, I wonder if Busch would have put the chrome horn on him coming for the checkers? Man, I was going nuts...I think Larson was strong enough to hold Busch off. Hey, taking the white at the Daytona  500 while leading is pretty good.

I watched because being laid up, I had little other choices.  Watched the Hockey game and turned on the joke.  I'll watch the 500 because of the name, Daytona 500, but I will not watch another race all year.  I am embarrassed for whomever wants to watch that bullshit.  3 segments?  WTF.  It is a complete and outright joke.  I am looking forward to any comments on here about how SMALL the attendance is this year, as I will not even tune in to see for myself.  What a joke.  How bout them Hawks?

I've gotta say I actually don't mind the segments for the Cup series, but I didn't much care for it in the trucks or xfinity because they have so many cautions anyways. It added a bit of different pit strategy rather than just everyone race and then everyone pit at once like usual.

went and watched today.  It was pretty entertaining overall.  The race had a little bit of everything and something for every fan.  THe last couple laps were exciting and the fans were given an intersting race.  Let's talk bashing though, Chase Elliott caused half two major pile ups and plowed through four cars to get the lead at the end.  kinda interested to see where monster takes this as they had very little pressence at the race for being the title sponsor.  besides their smoke show on the midway, their logo on the grass and a few spots on the wall that was about it for monster's presence there

The only thing this thing (I refuse to call it a race) was enough bullshit to make me not watch another one for another year. I was in and out during the day but every time I turned it on they were either having intermission or a  crash fest. I agree with those refered to giving children high powered race cars, don't they know how to drive them any more. I think they are putting too many guys in them before they get thru the young and dumb stage that everybody goes thru. And before anyone asks if I can do better, no I can't but I don't get paid big bucks to call myself a race car driver either.

I can never keep up with all of Nascar changes. Seems they change rules every year, and sometimes when ever they want. Is the "Chase" a thing of the past now? They kept talking about needing all the points they could get to make the playoffs!? Not to make the chase. Will this year's playoffs be different than the chase? Just wondering cause I only watch the last 35 or so laps (when I remember and time it right) and don't pay much attention to Nascar overall. Especially after sprint  are racing starts at Knoxville.

The only reason I even tuned in was to see where #42 was running. And man he did not disappoint. I didn't see any si gle cars able to make s pass without help. Except for Yung Money. I'll watch next week cause Atlanta is one of about 3 good tracks. Along with Darlington and Indy.

With ya Oswald.  I keep waiting for the cars to be lined up according to the ages of their youngest child, followed by flipping to lining them up in segment 2 by ages of their youngest maternal grandparent, followed by segment 3 lined up by who had the most recent bowel movement.  Chase will be set according to who had the most 3rd place finishes and who had the best average running position at lap 73 of each race.

Hey, at least some good news---Michael Waltrip was in a race car which means you didn't have to hear his voice all day!
