Congrats to Gravel on winning the title! Just curious on how they figure out the points for this, anyone know?

It doesn't matter much, as I don't think it pays anything, but how in the world do you win 3 of 5, get a 2nd in another race and not win the title? Silly point system.

That would have to do with awarding too many points for going fast by yourself - qualifying. The sport is called racing not qualifying, more points should be awarded for how you perform in a crowd.

just imahine if Gravel didnt finish 25th where he would be.

He took the green with his 3rd blown motor of the evening

and the 4th in 2days.

if the tables were turned and the Don Don could qualify would you all be  whinning..

Unless he is forced to match his motor to his sponsor... probably. Smile Talk about false advertising. That should get minthess wound up. Anyways, he is darn good but it is also aparent Gravel has shown speed early. We will see who stays more consistent. I won't give up on someone dethroning Schatz but starting in a hole early is going to be tough to come out of so hopefully no one falls too far behind.

My math has David gravel winning 2,599 points to 2,584 points by Schatz.

Kinda like the "Race for the Wesmar" at Devils Bowl a few years back. Jason Johnson won every race he was on the track that night and didn't win the motor.

Just like when Daryn Pittman beat Schatz out for the WoO title a few years back... Schatz didnt get out raced, he got out qualified.  I find it fairly pathetic they give so many points fo qualifying... Like someone else said it's racing the most points should be rewarded with other cars on the track not running solo IMO

Agreed. Qualifying should not earn points, in fact, I would be OK without Time Trials at all

It's Unfortunate that Gravel had some bad luck with blowing 4 engines. If he didn't get 24th on Friday. He would be sitting

much better in the points... it's going to be REALLY difficult to De Thrown Don Don . But it will be a great season as we see it all play out.

Wishing  all the teams this year nothing but Safe  Races. Let's make this a safe and outstanding year for all!

we have lost to many in this sport!
