After Almost Two Months Idle, NCRA Sprints in Action Saturday Night!
Park City, Kansas – August 31, 2016 - Gunning for his sixth consecutive championship, C.J. Johnson leads the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products sprint car division into a Labor Day Saturday night stop at 81 Speedway in Park City and will be a part of the tracks annual “Steve King Foundation” night.
The event will also be the first for the tour since the Hutchinson Grand Nationals championship finale back on July 16, won by Norman, Oklahoma’s Danny Wood – who is also expected to be in the field Saturday night.
Johnson, who has won five straight championships and six overall, will come into the night with a 30-point lead over Nebraska’s Don Droud, Jr. while former two-time tour champion Jeremy Campbell sits third, 170 points out of the lead. Ray Seeman, Jon Freeman, Jeff Stasa, J.D. Johnson, Wood, Jake Greider and rookie of the year contender Forrest Southerland all round out the top ten in the standings. Oklahoma drivers Danny Jennings, Michelle Decker and a host of other “Okies” are expected to make the trip north to take on the series regulars.
Gates open at 5:00 PM with racing slated for a 7:00 PM start time. Grandstand admission prices are $20 for adults; children 6-10 just $5 while kid ages five and under will be admitted free. All pit passes will be $30.
