81 Speedway to Host All Four NCRA Divisions This Saturday Night!

Park City, Kansas – August 31, 2016 - Make your Labor Day weekend Saturday night one to remember as 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas hosts all four divisions of the National Championship Racing Association of Park City presented by Precise Racing Products. On the race card will be the series 360-ci sprint, modified, crate late model and mod-lite divisions. It will also be annual “Steve King Foundation Night” at the speedway.

The NCRA modified division will come into the night after having competed at Salina Speedway in Salina (Kansas) where Scott Green comes into the weekend with a slim five-point lead over former five-time tour champion Brian Franz. Two-time and defending champion Dan Powers, looking for a three-peat, sits just thirty points out of the lead while former champion Tyler Davis sits just forty points behind. Josh Lanterman is fifth in the standings, just forty-five points out of the lead.

Touring rookie Kyler Kemp, who leads the RoY standings, sits sixth in the standings, followed by Jason McGehee, Ross Shipman, Ryan McAninich and Clint McFadden.

The night’s feature finale for the modifieds will see something never done before in the history of the series as they will start twenty-eight cars.

The series sprint car division will be back in action for the first time since the annual Hutchinson Grand Nationals back on July 16. Six-time and defending champion C.J. Johnson will come into the night with a 30-point lead over Nebraska’s Don Droud, Jr. while former two-time tour champion Jeremy Campbell sits third, 170 points out of the lead. Ray Seeman, Jon Freeman, Jeff Stasa, J.D. Johnson, 2016 Hutch Nationals champion Danny Wood, Jake Greider and rookie of the year contender Forrest Southerland round out the top ten in the standings. Oklahoma drivers Danny Jennings, Michelle Decker and a host of other “Okies” are expected to make the trip north to take on the series regulars.

For the third weekend in a row the series crate late model division will be in action and there we find defending co-champion Chris Kratzer the point leader. Kratzer holds a 105-point lead over former champion Delbert Smith while Dusty Leonard, Jimmy Segraves, Rob Day, Daniel Smith, leading feature winner Lyle Shepard, Ryan Grit, rookie contender Adam Popp and Robert Shepard round out the top ten.

The mod-lites will also be in action, led by two-time and defending champion Justin Kinderknecht. He holds a slim fifteen-point lead over Dustin Forsberg while Ryan Ayers, Trace Ayers, Brandon Gray, Cody Kretchmar, Drew Hilt, Mike Zrubek, Owen Edwards and Andrew Halpain the top ten in the standings.

Gates open at 5:00 PM with racing slated for a 7:00 PM start time.  Grandstand admission prices are $20 for adults; children 6-10 just $5 while kid ages five and under will be admitted free. All pit passes will be $30.

81 Speedway is located north of Wichita on I-135 to exit 16, then 0.7 mile west on 77th street in Park City. For more race information contact the speedway office (316) 755-1781 and get daily updates by accessing their official facebook page: Race 81 Speedway.
