Plus a 6th place run for the king. Sounds like it was a good one!

Hell yes! Sammy just keeps on going. He's making an ass out of father time. Eventually age will catch up but hopefully he keeps going as long as he wants to. At an age where most are either 15 years past their prime or retired althogether, he's #StillWinning and he isn't cherry picking either. He's won races against some stout competition this year. Like him or not, no one can deny his talent. His longevity is nothing short of amazing. Great to see the King finish up his career with a strong run as well.

Yes Sir, How about that Mr. Swindell. He Can still get it done, my opinion the best ever. *Beating guys half his age..Incredible.Knows how to get the fast time yet. It would be awesome if he would do ALL-Stars for a whole yr. Bet he would win a championship. Hey Tony lets get him to do this. Yes he is still the Man!!! Still sells more T-shirts than any other driver.  Go Sammy Go!! #1.

Always like to go places I've never been before, pretty impressed with my first visit to Lebanon Valley Speedway. Closest dirt track to my Mom's in Connecticut ( a "mere" 2 hrs.), never been before cause they usually run modifieds, I think WoO once a year. Beautiful drive up Rt. 8 to Northwest corner of Ct. SW corner of Massachusetts & a few miles into N.Y., mostly forest, hills & lakes after Waterbury. I wasn't expecting much for a Monday nite rainout makeup date, but crowd was big ( over $7,000 for 50/50, bigger than winner's purse!) Nice facility, beautiful setting, fast high banked 1/2 mile, kind of a paper clip like the Grove.

Small block modifieds were a good support class, looked more like hotrod race cars than "taxicabs", quicker & more manueverable than LMs. I imagine the Big Blocks are even better....Mod races were more competitive than the sprints, too.

It was great to see Sammy win, but not a lot of passing & too many wrecks. He was clearly the fastest, #1 qualifier, blasted from 5th to 2nd right away in Dash. Ole Sammy has certainly mastered the art of starts & restarts. Three 1st lap wrecks in the feature, Sammy took off from outside front row each time, after they finally got 2 laps in & went single file, it was all Swindell, reverse of Grandview with Blaney chasing him instead of visa versa. Once they got to lapped traffic, Sammy took care of business

I'll be back, & recommend the place to other fans....

Go Sammy! Old guys rule....

Even with the Modifieds, Lebabon Valley has been notorious for train racing for decades. The old joke in that area is that fans should go to Fonda for the racing and Lebanon Valley for the food. The other joke that frequently gets used on the Modified boards about the Valley is that if you go there wanting to see racing, you are better off watching the dragstrip than the dirt track.

That being said, Valley owner/promoter Howie Commander is one of the best promoters in short-track racing and has been for a very long time. Shows at the Valley are almost always $2-10 cheaper than what they anywhere else. And the food is cheap as hell there. The last time I was there, they still had a $1 menu for some of the hot food items.

The Valley's big Modified race each year is called Mr. DIRT Track USA. It is $17,500 to win and as of 2-3 years ago, the front gate admission was still only $18. Weekly pit passes at the track are $15 for members as of just a couple years ago and the weekly front gate was still only $10 to see a headline class of big-block Modifieds.

When is "Mr, Dirt Track"?

Thursday, September 1. Mr. DIRT Track USA is almost always a Thursday-night show. I looked it up, and the show is $20 general admission ($22 reserved) this year for a $17,500 to win DIRTCar series event. Most of the races the series runs at are $25 admission for $6,000 to win.
