What could have been maybe the most spectacular modified races on one day in racing history fell victum to mother nature on Friday night at Lakeside Speedway.
The Cheese Works was their for all the preliminary events, a trio thru the pits, drivers meeting, and hot laps plus a salute to remember Grant Junghans by all the modified drivers in attendance as they formed a number two on the infield.
This race had the makings of a one of a kind race for history to remember with 125 A-mod drivers from all corners of this country, 70 b-mods, and 12 stock cars.
The atmosphere was a lot like the Knoxville Nationals, Belleville Nationals, or any of the big racing events, you could feel it in the air as you made your way thru the pits, $100,000 up for grabs on a one day show, the very best of the best in modified racing from all over this country.
It has been tentatively rescheduled for September 30th and October 1st, double check on that date with the USMTS web site.
It is not racing but just the events leading up to the racing action. Enjoy.
