The famed World of Outlaws will be visiting Badlands Motor Speedway this weekend for a two-day show with a massive fireworks display on Saturday and Sunday, July 2-3. Some of the top Sprint Car drivers in the country will be racing at the updated Speedway, like Donny Schatz, Daryn Pittman, Joey Saldana, Jason Sides and Brad Sweet.
It’s great to have these drivers from the touring circuit at BMS, but there’s a catch. When Chuck Brennan purchased the historic Huset’s Speedway, one of the first things he did was invested nearly a million dollars into the infield complete with drainage, concrete, new lighting and infrastructure. This was done so all Sprint Car teams could pit in the infield and that has taken place for every race this year including the inaugural Silver Shootout that hosted a record 47, 410 Outlaw Sprint Cars.
“The most common compliment I get from the fans and drivers is how incredible our infield looks and how much they like having a front row seat to the action of what the race teams are up to," said Lyle Howe, Assistant General Manager of Facilities at Badlands Motor Speedway.
Unfortunately for this program the World of Outlaws Platinum 13 drivers have opted to pit outside the gate and behind the backstretch despite our efforts to convince them to join the party on the infield.
To be sure we have plenty of 410 Outlaw Sprint Cars pitting in the infield, the Speedway has offered up a bonus to all of the other drivers (we expect a record turnout of cars this week).
For those others who agree to pit in the infield as normal, we will offer them 2 free pit pass, on both nights this weekend. More importantly, any driver outside of the WoO Platinum who finishes in the Top 3 positions either night will receive the following bonus:
1st: $5,000
2nd: $2,500
3rd: $1,000
This bonus is provided by Badlands Motor Speedway, does not come out of the WoO purse and is intended to insure the fans are taken care of with a very exciting show this weekend on July 2-3. Please join us for this fireworks-filled challenge and record World of Outlaws show purse bonus.
