$27,000 THUNDER on the HIGH BANKS Returns to LoneStar Speedway - SUNDAY MAY 29th!

>>Note that LoneStar's next race is SAT. 5/21 - details at track FB page and website<<

Kilgore TX (5/20/16) by DarinShort.com. As long as we receive Mother Nature's permission, race fans will finally get to enjoy the return of 'Thunder on the High-Banks' on Sunday, May 29th (Memorial Day weekend) when the high powered ASCS Gulf South region Sprint Car teams will invade LoneStar Speedway (LSS). Last year's event was rained out, so we're hoping not to have a 'repeat performance' in that category.

The ASCS Sprint Cars will be racing for $3,000 to win and $310 to start. Joining them will be a complete LSS points program - with bumped-up purse structures:

Modifieds will pay $1,250/win and $100/start, while the Limited Modified winner will take home $750 and it pays down to $60/start, the first Factory Stock driver to cross the checkers will receive $500 in their feature that pays down to $40/start. Complete purse structure in all divisions is posted below. The new Front Wheel Drive 4-Cylinders will round out the 5-division racing card.

A fantastic field of ASCS Sprint Cars is expected, including drivers such as Channin Tankersley (current points leader), Ray Allen Kulhanek, Tommy Bryant, Travis Rilat, Dustin Gates, Michael McNeil, Jacob Lucas, Zane Lawrence, J.J. Simmons, Scottie McDonald, Harry Yerrington, Cody Stacy, John Pate, Randy Allen, Caleb Martin, Bruce Crockett & many more from throughout the region.

Keeping up with LoneStar's goal to offer quality racing, great competitor purses - while still at family-affordable pricing - Adult (ages 12-64) tickets to Thunder on the High Banks are just $17, while ages 6-11 are $5, and ages 65+/Active Military can take in the full night of racing for just $15. All pit passes for all ages are $35.

Hot laps Sunday May 29th fire off at 7pm, with the Pits opening by 3pm and the Grandstands by 5:30pm. LSS Draw Cut-Off at 6:30pm with the LSS drivers Pit Meeting at 6:45pm. Drivers, please make sure to arrive on time so we can keep the show moving on schedule.

Driver registration for the LSS points divisions is required, and the $30 registration fee goes right back into the Drivers Point Fund - which has averaged over $10,000/year the past three years. Sprint Cars do not register.

Here is the complete minimum event payback by division for Sunday May 29th:
