While I am not allowed to send out any press releases, that won't stop me from posted Sooner Late Model Series updates on my own facebook page and website so here we go.//

Don't forget the Sooner Late Model Series gets back into race action this coming Friday night (May 20) at Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore. The tour kicked off their inaugural season at the track with twenty-three cars pit side and Enid's Kip Hughes going down as the first ever winner for the series. Hughes held off repeated challenges by Shannon Scott to pick up the hard-earned victory.

Since then, two other events have been held with Randy Timms (Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada) and 2015 Hutchinson Grand Nationals winner Damian Patocka (Brill Motor Speedway in Meeker) having picked up feature victories.

After three events, Hughes holds a slim five point lead over Eddie Martin while Mark Harrison (-40), Scott (-45) and Patocka (-70) the top five in the point standings. Drivers rounding out the top ten include Dalton Ragsdale, Jay Sale, Timms, Nate Jantz and Darin Busch. Drivers also expected include Mark and Eric Brill, Harlan Sale, Sloppy Hog, Jason Redman and David Hennan.

Friday night gates will open at 5:00 PM with race action slated for a 7:30 PM start time. Grandstand prices are $15 for ages 13 and up; $10 for ages 6-12; all pit passes will be $30.

Southern Oklahoma Speedway is located off of I-35 to exit 29, go east on Hwy 70 for 0.7 mile then south on Hwy 77 for two miles.
