7:30AM 5/12/16 TEXAS WORLD DIRT TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATES:

-As expected, the track did receive precip overnight, about 1/2 what was forecast; approximately 0.39".

-The track was sealed off in advance of the precip, so tilling will commence in about an hour.

-So everything is still 'on track' for competitor load-in (beginning at noon) and practice for all registered cars tonight.

-There is a band of showers to the west of the Metroplex, with the bulk of precip moving south of TMS, and currently NOAA shows any lingering precip will conclude by lunchtime - and light amounts are expected. Feel free to follow along at:

And here's yesterday's 'Dirt' on this weekend's events:

HERE'S 'The Dirt' on TMS 5/13-14 RACE WEEKEND, "TOP-LINE" FAN/TEAM NEWS & UPDATES!

Ft. Worth TX (5/10/16) by DarinShort.com. It's time for the Texas World Dirt Track Championship at The Dirt Track at Texas Motor Speedway! Two action packed nights of high speed dirt track racing are in store this Friday and Saturday night, May 13th-14th.

Complete event information has been posted at several points since launch of the event, and those details are available at the two site links below.

But for now, here are the top-line notes and event updates for both race teams and for fans:

- The ASCS Sprint Cars run a complete program each night (not just on Saturday as in the past). The Sprint Car feature is scheduled for no later than 11pm nightly.

- Races Friday are at 7pm, Saturday 7pm.

- If you purchase your tickets at any DFW area O'Reilly Auto Parts location, you can save $5/adult ticket (which makes TMS ticket prices between $5-10 lower than some area tracks that race ASCS).

- Each night on the concourse there will be an ASCS driver autograph session from 7:10-7:30pm, so make plans to get there a few minutes early to meet some of the drivers!

- All feature winners receive their own beautifully designed custom helmet as a trophy. Click http://www.darinshort.com/worldhelmets.html to view them.

- The weekend weather forecast for racing currently looks great, with dry conditions expected. There are rain chances on Weds night through Thursday at 1pm, but NOAA currently shows that's when it should end. If practice night is affected by this potential precip, we will let everyone know what/if any impact that will have on the Thursday night schedule. But there is no change in the advertised weekend schedule (that is posted at the link directly below).

- For detailed and complete event information, go to http://www.texasmotorspeedway.com/upcoming-events/special-events/texas-world-dirt-track-championship or for competitor information, go to http://www.darinshort.com/world.html

- Although online driver registration is now closed, racers can register their teams upon arrival to the track this weekend.

- For free, live lineups and results, please check back on Friday, as it will be available by then to copy/paste into your mobile device (or desktop PC if you're not at the event)...whether you are a fan or race team.

- Stop by the TMS display on the concourse nightly and register to "Wave the Green Flag" for the ASCS Sprint Car feature race that night! (These are two separate nightly promotions.)

-Pit/Camping Gates open at Noon on Thursday, along with Registration, Pit Pass Sales, Credentials and Hauler Load-in. Practice scheduled from 7pm-10pm.

Thank you to all of the teams that have already entered the event, the 120 reserved pit spaces sold out a while back, so fans can expect to see another 'TMS sized' field of racers on hand this weekend!

That second and final wave of precip did end up staying well south of TMS and no addl precip is forecast.

So we are completely on schedule with load-in, registration and camping taking place at noon (1hour from now).
