Sprint Car Bandits announces DarinShort.com 'Free Pass to the Feature' at Abilene 4/23/16!

Mesquite, TX (4/19/16) by DarinShort.com. This coming Saturday, April 23rd at Abilene Speedway, there will be an added bonus called the DarinShort.com 'Free Pass to the Feature.'

Here's how it will work:

-After the feature field is set, any Sprint Car Bandits series driver that didn't make the A-feature will go into a blind drawing (of drivers that finish the B-feature(s) outside of a transfer spot).

-Whomever's name is drawn out will forgo their 'non-qualifier status' and receive the DarinShort.com 'Free Pass to the Feature' - and race for full points and the fully advertised feature money from the 21st starting position (which in this case is a minimum of $400)!

Sprint Car Bandits series Steve Lang comments: "I think one of the best things about working with Darin is waiting to see what he will come up with next, as he never fails to surprise me - and has done it again with the Free Pass to the Feature. I think this is an awesome idea!"

Lang continues: "As always, this shows Darin's dedication and love of our sport by giving all the drivers finishing the B feature that did not make the show one more chance to make the A main and starting 21st. The drivers, the track & the fans all win anytime great people step up and contribute something extra to our sport. I hope we continue to see more sponsors, fans & tracks do the same going forward. It's easy and red-tape free to get involved with the Sprint Car Bandits series - just give me a call at 469-474-8234."

Darin Short comments: "The Sprint Car Bandits is all about bringing the fun back in sprint car racing, while curbing costs to the racers, fans and the race tracks; all without diluting the quality of the racing. Additionally, Rob Poor (Abilene Speedway) was a very good customer of Wayne Larson Racing while I was there, and he's since had me perform work with Abilene Speedway, so this is a perfect venue for a promotion such as this - as in racing, what comes around goes around."

DarinShort.com offers turn-key online and offline advertising/marketing solutions for a wide variety of businesses nationwide - including several within the racing industry.

Sprint Car Bandits Series Opener at Abilene Speedway This Saturday - April 23rd!

Abilene, TX (4/19/16) by DarinShort.com. The Sprint Car Bandits Series and Abilene Speedway are all pumped up and ready to go for the highly anticipated Series opener this Saturday April 23rd. Current forecasts look very good, with dry conditions and temps in the upper 70's; current precip chances show between 0-10%.

What was a vision a few months ago is now becoming reality Saturday night, April 23rd, when the Milestone Electric Sprint Car Bandits (SCB) are set to invade the 1/4 mile bullring of Abilene Speedway located in Abilene, Texas. At the time of writing, 53 Sprint Car teams from throughout DFW and the surrounding areas have registered their cars and are eligible to compete with the SCB series in 2016.

A very solid SCB total purse of $11,610 is posted for Abilene Speedway on April 23rd, with $1,200 earmarked for the feature winner, paying down to $400/start feature; plus all non-starters/non-qualifiers will receive $200. Note that the SCB is not a 'just show up and race' series. You must be a registered team prior to race day (details below).

Abilene Speedway is located at 6825 US Highway 80 W in Abilene, TX 79605. On race day, the track phone number is (325) 692-8800 or click www.AbileneSpeedway.com for the track web page. Gates open at 5pm with Racing at 8pm. General admission is just $15! Kids ages 6-12 are $5, with ages under 6 free. Military with I.D. is $10. Pit passes are $30.

Plus, when the gates open at 5pm at the Michael Lang Racing trailer in the pits (Palm Harbor Racing #14), you can purchase the limited edition Sprint Car Bandits t-shirt for just $15! This t-shirt is only available at the track, at his trailer and while supplies last. To see the t-shirt artwork, go to the SCB Facebook page. No pre-orders are available for this special item...first come, first served.

If you are a race team that plans to compete in the Sprint Car Bandits, you must register your team in advance to avoid paying a registration fee at the track on race night. Registration takes just a moment to complete, so if you've yet to do so, just go to www.SprintCarBandits.com then click the 'drivers' tab, and in about a minute you'll be all set. Your registration is a 'one time' procedure, and will last the entire 2016 racing season and includes all SCB events.

Online driver registration is free through Friday April 22th, but if you show up to race on race night unregistered, there is a $300 driver registration fee.

Joining the Sprint Car Bandits series, will be a complete Abilene Speedway points night of racing in the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Hobby Stocks, IMCA SportMods, Street Stocks & Jr Mini Stocks. The SCB feature race is slated for 2nd or 3rd feature race out in the running order (which will be the case at all SCB events in 2016).

Race fans can expect a great mix of young and veteran drivers competing with the Sprint Car Bandits. The following 53 drivers have submitted their SCB driver registration confirming their intent to compete in the series in 2016:

Austin Mundie, Blake Mallory, Brad Queen, Brad Welborn, Brandie Jass, Brandon Corn, Brandon Long, Bryson Oeschger, Chad Wilson, Chance McCrary, Charlie McDonald, Chase Parson, Chris Douglas, Chris Kelly, Claud Estes III, Colby Hudspeth, Colton Goodwin, Dale Wester, Dalton Stevens, Dustin Woods, Gary Floyd, Jerry Bell, Jason Howell, Joe Wood Jr, John James (car owner), John Kelly, Johnny Miller, Junior Jenkins, Justin Fifield, Justin Melton, Justin Zimmerman, Kevin Barksdale, Koby Barksdale, Larry Howery, Larry Long, Logan Payne, Mark Huddleston, Marcus Thomas, Michael Kostic, Michael Lang, Michelle Melton, Payton Williams, Raven Culp, Robert Byrom, Robert Vetter, Rodney Henderson, Russ Fletcher, Ryan Hall, Ryan Padgett, Shawn Mize, Sterling Hoff, Steve Elliott and Tucker Doughty.

We would like to thank the sponsors of the Sprint Car Bandits series: Milestone Electric, B-Tactical, Rodd Hanna's Air Performance, A&M Glass Service, MalloryPrint.com and Palm Harbor Homes - and with each SCB sponsor announcement, the series can continue to implement one of its primary missions, and that is adding to the already excellent competitor purses.

This mission is being put into effect this Saturday, April 23rd at Abilene Speedway, as the SCB will inject an additional $2,250 in sponsor money to the feature event purse, which will pay the standard $1,200 to win - but will now raise the start money from $300 to $400. Any non-starters or non-qualifiers will receive a very generous $200 each.

If your business is interested in getting involved with the SCB series, please contact Steve Lang directly at: [email protected] or by calling 469-474-8234. There are effective programs available for all sizes of budgets.

The SCB series has a unique rules package that allows teams to use their current equipment (especially in the engine compartment), yet curbing nightly tire expense...which helps equalize the competition, with teams of varying budget sizes.

That rules package certainly has the vote of many of the drivers in the DFW area, as 53 have already submitted their registration information to the SCB, indicating their intent to compete with the series in 2016. Series rules are posted at the link below.

Between the lower operating cost of the SCB series and the addition of sponsor funds into nightly purses, it is allowing more area race tracks to book events - which all translates into DFW area fans getting to see quality sprint car race at a lower grandstand ticket price.

When you combine those components with lower nightly competitor operating purses, it all equals one thing: the new Sprint Car Bandits series!

Click http://www.SprintCarBandits.com for the latest in series news - including the brand new event flyer for the inaugural series event, coming to Abilene Speedway on Saturday, April 23rd.

You can also reach the SCB on Facebook, at http://www.Facebook.com/SprintCarBandits

As of the time of writing, here's the latest official SCB event schedule - and note that there are some new dates still in negotiation, which will be released when officially booked.

Sprint Car Bandits Confirmed Dates Schedule, as of 4/19/16:

Race teams, one final reminder: If you are a race team that intends on racing with the SCB this season, take a moment to go to the series website and register your team by April 22 - it's free. It takes just a moment to do, and is mandatory to complete a day prior to competing in order to avoid paying an $300 at-track registration fee, as the SCB is not a 'just show up and race' series.

The Sprint Car Bandits series is dedicated to help bringing back some of the old-time fun of sprint car racing, yet incorporating some much-needed basic adjustments that help the teams stay on track with their budget - and fans not having to pay excessively high ticket prices to enjoy watching them.

Thank you to the drivers, area racetracks and sponsors for their strong support of this new series, we're looking forward to having a great season...which fires off this Saturday April 23 at Abilene Speedway!

The Sprint Car Bandits series now has a Twitter account.

You can search Twitter for 'Sprint Car Bandits' or go direct to @SprintCarBandit

On race days there you'll be able to see live updates, pictures and more.

The pesky weather system plaguing the area is finally forecast to exit the Abilene area late tonight, giving way to dry and sunny conditions.  The current race day forecast for this Saturday shows dry and 76 degrees.
