According to motorsports.com, Smoke is going to announce his retirement from Nascar this week. Not a huge surprise after his struggles this year. What does this mean for his future and his sprint car ventures?

Probably sticking around next year to be able to market his retirement better. Retirement merchandising is lucrative. Gordon went out ceremoniously, as did Kinser with Salute to the King. Gordon is running 10th in points. Danica is currently beating Stewart. Hopefully he can put together a better showing his final year. I hope he runs a limited schedule afterward though, trying to win the Daytona 500 and Indy 500.
They don't even know how to spell sprint car

Tony Stewart will no longer drive "competitively" in NASCAR after the 2016 season, with a news conference scheduled for Wednesday to announce the news.
This sounds like he is leaving the door open. Perhaps a Memorial weekend double?

Now if Ford Motor Company, Kyle and Rico can find the nads to tell them to shove the lies, I'll be good. I bet Tony feels like a new man.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

They can make them all Toyotas with a restrictor plate and an aero package than allows Lassy to hold it wide open at Martinsville as far as I'm concerned.

I agree, his heart hasn't been in it. I don't think he's been the same since the broken leg. Personally I hope he wins the Ward lawsuit and then turns his full attention towards dirt track racing. I guarantee you that's what he wants to do. The only thing I don't like is his rumored replacement driver. I really don't care for Clint Bowyer. I'd rather see him move a sprint car driver into that seat.

I have no idea what his plans are. I know he loved to race and thats the main thing he had to have fun and be competitive.
I'd love to see him take over indycar. Honestly, after next year. I don't see it able to field 15 car field for anything other than the 500 and probably not even 33 for the 500

I think most of his focus will be on the dirt track side of things. The past few years it seems he has been getting things in order to make that his focus with all that has been going on with Eldora, working with the Chili Bowl, buying the All Stars. I am sure he will still race off and on in a part time type deal just because of how competitive he is. As for Clint Bowyer, he and Tony are good friends off of the track. Clint was one of the first people to visit tony after the leg injury so I am sure friendship goes a long way. I would not be surprised to see Larson in a SHR car after his Ganassi deal is up.

Tony has nothing to prove to anyone. He has alot on his plate right now and I do not see him doing anything Like Indy 500. That would be sort of crazy, he is no longer a spring chicken. I see him as a business man in racing.

It would rock to see Larson at SHR rather than Bowyer. Personally, I'd love to see Danica go and bring in Larson and Little Ricky at SHR. I'm sure Danica's not going anywhere, but a guy can dream...

How 'bout he goes bigger than any of you are thinking: Tony starts his own nationwide 410 sprintcar series and knocks the current occupant of the top of the hill completely off the mound?
He would need: 1) A passion for the sport, not just for the money 2) A well know spokesman 3) Money 4) Access to sponsors 5) A relationship with the media- good or bad 6)A rapport with drivers, owners and fans 7)Character 8) Drive 9)Charisma 10) Acces to a major speedway like Eldora
All in all, I think this might be the guy that could get it done.

I can see Tony going bigger.....but I don't think it will be a nationwide touring thing. Instead, I think he'll continue to grow and solidify the All Stars into a stronger regional series. He might then also choose another area in the country to build another. I think Tod Quiring with the advent of the NSL may have opened the door for that as the next trend in sprint car racing. It wouldn't take a lot for Larson and Abreu to do a similar thing out west, and Kasey Kahne who has a foot in the door in PA to do something similar out East. The end result will be the demise of the WoO, which quite frankly is now only a mega-millionaire car owners play thing. Six or even eight regional series could do a lot for strengthening sprint car racing. Regions could cross boarders so to speak and have joint racing events....and ....just a thought, the top eight or ten in ponts from each region could qualify and gather for another large event in addition to all those currently on tap. How much money can be saved by not criss-crossing the United States 2 to 3 times every year? I also think along with national sponsors involvement with all the series, regional sponsorship would be easier to attain. I'm quite sure Tod Quiring can attest to that based on the number of new sponsors to sprint car racing that his new series attracted in it's first year. Well, these are only thoughts, but something I've thought about for some time that might just come about.

P.S. I'll miss watching Tony Stewart race, if that's what he decides to do completely. He is after all, one of the very best drivers ever!

After the 30th annual chili bowl Tony Stewart will be buying the event, and some say he's looking at moving it to an indoor facilaty in VEGAS... NO JOKE.
Just keep your ears to the wall and you might hear some of this talk going on in the back room.
At wich time Tony will then have the nascar team,WOO,USAC,owner of Eldora and chili bowl.
Thats more then enough thing's to be looking after.
I too loved watching TONY race ,but feel the real Tony hasen't shown up for a race in 2 years.
Tony will be a great part of keeping dirt racing real over the next 30 years, and that sit's fine with me.
Go get'em Tony !!!

Wednesday Nights, 10 times a year (mostly July and August) Eldora hosts a series of their own with full on Live TV support. About 35 of the best Winged and Non-Winged drivers in the country (yes you can do both). If the TV deal does not come through then I am sure MAV-TV or some other PPV thing can happen and who wouldn't be interested in seeing some of the best run the Big E in both Traditional and Winged Sprinters.
With Tony owning the facility and soon having the time to run it himself (he hires somebody for next year) this is a possibility if looked at closely and I think you could with the right amount of $$$$ get committments from some Posse and some Knoxville guys as well as most of the IND non-wing guys to be there. If properly promoted you can bring a whole lot of new people (I'm looking at you Mr. NASCAR fan) into this fold, especially with the CUP ratings falling. NOW is the time to strike, been a long time since I got to spend time with Tony but I would love to go over this with him and some other folks who might think this can happen. If you can sell it to the drivers I am confident you can do the same with the fans as well.
Anthony, make this happen.....
