Celebrate Community Church is located right across the street from turns 1 and 2 of the Knoxville Raceway. We recognize that we are in a great location to bless all the great race fans that come to the Nationals every year. Our question is, what do race fans want? There are places around that offer meals, pies and many other activies, but as race fans, what do you think is missing? We have talked about kids activities and we may do some of that but we are curious what the majority of people would like to see. And yes the idea of a big tent with free beer was brought up but we will not be doing that, sorry. Please share ideas, we will consider ABOUT anything, keep in mind this is a church asking.

Last year we had a Steve Kinser Tribute and this year we are working on having a NSL forum on Friday. We would like to use our parking lot as a destination event for the fans. Thanks for your input, we look forward to hearing from you.

Kudos to your participation, impressive and very nice to see.  Hopefully the good/smart people in this forum can contribute some suggestions that you can implement, too bad about the free beer thing tho', J/K.  All the best....

Just throwing out an idea, allow a smaller team as space can be an issue, (30 foot trailer or less) to set up their trailer for the week and have a 50/50 fund. 50% could go for a church mission/ project, 50% could go to the driver for the expenses of their car for the week. The driver/ crew would obvously have to participate in promoting the mission/ project for the church. A Q&A session at a specified time eachday/ after qualifying, before saturdays show may be a great time to for people to gather and participate in activities. A small write up in the daily nationals news paper could go a long way.

What ever you decide to do, I will be sure to check it out.

We attended last year and had a great time! Thank you for doing it.

As for a suggestion for this year, you might consider another interview session. Perhaps this time having Doug Wolfgang, Stevie Smith, maybe even Tony Stewart. You think you had attendance last year? Get "Smoke" in there and you'll be turning them away at the door!!!

One of the things I loved about my first Nationals experiences were the amount of driver t-shirts available. Lance Dewease's mom used to organize a Posse/Ohio/other locals T Shirt stand which I think used to do very well. Obviously there are a ton of t-shirt vendors all around but not even close to every driver is represented. Would be cool to find a way to organize a driver t-shirt stand for those who don't have their own t-shirt trailers.

As far as food: I wouldn't mind seeing something different during the day...pancakes with all the toppings.

Doing interviews of random drivers I would think be popular. Post the times out front on the main sidewalk. Let fans drop off questions to the interviewer.

I know we see sometimes crew members completely change a rear end in record time...how about have different crews do a challenge through out the week on changing different parts with their times posted weekly.

And yes, getting Tony Stewart, Kasey, Kyle, other drivers who have moved on from driving or formers racers is always a great idea.

...just throwing ideas out there I think would be cool.

Getting experts opinions on insights during the nationals like Doty, Aragabrite, Bill W. would be interesting.

Eagle Pit Shack Guy, thanks for coming last year. I am glad you enjoyed it. It looks like we will be having another event this year. We are working on having the National Sprint League people and some drivers on Friday afternoon of Nationals from 2-3:30. Steve Post will once again be the host. We will be talking about how it all came to be, what the drivers think, where it is going in the future and also the new 360 series starting next year. There will be a time for the fans to ask some questions. The National Sprint League is one of the most exciting things to happen in sprint car racing in quite some time, so you will be able to get the whole story on Friday from 2-3:30 at Celebrate Church. There might be a free will dontation like last year with all proceeds going to charity. We raised over $700 last year, part going to the Knoxville Racing Charitiable Organization and part going to the renovation of the Grand Theater project on the Knoxville square. Mark it on your calendars!!!

Yea, good idea.... I go to several Pa. races every year, see plenty of people wearing Hodnett T-shirts, but can never find where to buy one. I even asked him personally at Path Valley & he was waiting for order to arrive

& Thanks to the church for your kind hospitality!

i agree with the shirt suggestion! i know shirts are a good profit for drivers. if someone could set up a t-shirt hub for all drivers that dont have the funds to have a trailer. the past couple years i have become good at biking around knoxville and finding drivers to get a shirt but sometimes they are really busy so i dont bother bugging them for a $20 shirt when they are trying to win 150,000. i miss the days of getting shirts in the pit area!

We kind of like this idea of being the hub for Tshirts. We are curious if there are any drivers on here that would be interested in this? Would you be willing to pay a small fee to set up or just make a donation based on your sales? We would love to be a place that all those from PA and CA could gather to sell their shirts. We don't know how interested alot of WoO teams would be because they have big trailers. Schatz and Kinser already sell their shirts here and that already brings alot of people to the lot. We like this idea but please keep them coming. Thanks.

I completely agree with this suggestion! This would be great for alot of people! I'm always looking for PA Posse shirts, but they are always the hardest to find during Nationals. I'm sure there would be various teams willing to allow you to sell their shirts for a small fee. I guarantee they would make more tshirt sales (so I'm sure the small fee would be outweighed by shirt sales) and yall would make a little money for the church too. And the fans get more of a selection and opportunity to help out the smaller teams that are their to compete!

It's a win win win. I would absolutely love to see this happen!

If yall decide to do through with this, I would be more than willing to help!

Interesting how most of the fans are rooting for Schatz to lose, but his t-shirts are for sale everywhere...

I'm one of those rooting for someone else to win, but have ultimate respect & no gripes about Donnie

I'll come visit! thanks again...

I would gladly donate a couple dollars per shirt sold to the Church if they wanted to sell them for me. We dont normally sell shirts other then after the A main because of lack of people that come with us.

Hey ddietrich88, so the issues with the guys from PA and CA not selling shirts like they used to is lack of help? I thought it was more of a issue with costing to much to put up a stand. So it would be more benefical for Posse guys if we sold their shirts for them versus just giving them a cheap place to all set up shop? Our idea was to maybe just have a large tent for all the teams that wanted it to set up tables and sell their shirts. We thought it would be cool for the fans to be able to come to one place and get shirts. The Outlaw guys will still have their trailers all over the place but we wanted to help the smaller teams and fans. Shoot me an email with your thoughts, I would really like to have a discussion about this. Any other teams that like this idea, please let me know.

I could be wrong but how it worked before was that it was coordinated by the Dewease family and they sold the shirts.

If that is true, somebody mention it to DeWease family and have them contact me. Or let me know how to reach them.
