RACE WEEK UPDATES: ASCS SPRINT CARS at RED RIVER SPEEDWAY THIS FRIDAY, APRIL 3 at 8pm!

Wichita Falls, TX (4/1/15) by DarinShort.com. Red River Speedway (RRS) near Wichita Falls, Texas is pleased to announce the first ever ASCS Red River Region event is coming to RRS this Friday April 3rd at 8pm.

The current NOAA forecast, as of Wednesday morning is for DRY conditions with a daytime high around 70. Bring a jacket, as temps are showing to fall into the 50's by the final checkers.

Last year's ASCS event at RRS was a Sooner vs Lone Star region event, however those two regions have been combined in 2015, forming the Red River Region...so what better place to host the event than at a speedway named the same!

This huge event is what fans have been waiting for, and this is the only scheduled ASCS race in the country on April 3rd, so a great field of Sprint Cars can be expected.

ASCS Sprint Car drivers including: Harli White, Jake Martens, Mickey Walker, Andy Shouse, Kade Morton, Chance Morton, Alex Sewell, Charles McManus, Shawn Petersen, Brandon Hanks, Howard Moore, Matt Covington, Tony Bruce, Jr., Johnny Herrera, Blake Hahn, Matt Ward, Kevin Ramey, Aaron Reutzel, Josh Baughman, Seth Bergman - plus a host of others will be at RRS on April 3rd.

Joining the ASCS Sprint Cars will be a complete program for the USRA Modifieds (paying $800/win) and IMCA Southern SportMods (paying $500 to win). The Pro Stocks, Factory Stocks and Mini Stocks will round out the 6-division racing card and each will be racing for $400 to win. Click http://www.RRSpeedway.com for complete purse breakdown and rules are posted under the 'driver' tab.

Adult tickets are just $15 (ages 12-64, which is $2 less than 2014!), while Kids 11 and under are free with adult admission. Seniors 65+/Active Military can enjoy the racing program for just $12. All pit passes for all ages are $35.

Here are the specifics for the Friday, April 3rd racing program at Red River Speedway:

-Pits open by 5pm, Grandstands open at 6pm, and racing starts at 8pm

-General Admission just $15 (ages 12 to 64; tickets available on race night only)

-Kids ages 11 and under are free with adult admission

-Active Military and Seniors (Ages 65+): $12

-All Pit Passes, all ages are $35

-No outside food, drinks and/or coolers allowed through ticket gates; a full selection of economically priced food concessions, including beer, are available.

-Click http://www.RRSpeedway.com or the track Facebook page http://www.Facebook.com/RedRiverSpeedway for complete event details, flyer, purse structure, rules, directions and much more.

-Visit http://www.ASCSracing.com for rules and more information on the series.

Join us THIS FRIDAY, April 3rd when the high powered ASCS Sprint Cars return to Red River Speedway - Let's Kick a Little Dirt!

It's going to be a FANtastic night of racing tonight at Red River Speedway!

A great field of sprint car teams from throughout the country will be on hand, and the ASCS division will run their feature by 2nd in the running order.

Staying over? Great hotel deals still available, as of 7am; go to www.hotwire.com - - - a 3-star was just $44 plus tax this morning!

NOAA is currently showing the winds will die down substantially beginning late afternoon into early evening...and DRY throughout the entire day/night. (And it will be a cross wind, as fans face the east; so the winds are forecast to run the direction of the front stretch.)

Hope to see you all at RRS tonight for the first ever ASCS Red River Region event...the battle begins here!

Additional details at www.RRSpeedway.com

ps: and if you don't like reading weather charts, translated, what this one means is by the time of the day you get to Red River Speedway, it will no longer be so windy that it would blow the foam off your beer. wink

So tell us more about how 6 classes are not too many when your featuring sprint cars.  We gave you a chance last year, it was a miserable failure. So you got another chance this year, bigger failure. track was atrocious, however a laughable attempt at repair at shortly before midnight was useless.  You can't run a timely program, you take forever to clear accidents. You lost many spectators last night. Probably drivers too.  #wastedtime #wasted money #wastedequipment

I understand your concerns, but note that "I" wasn't there, nor did I package this event.

I'll pass your comments along to the track management if you'd like.

I am 100% in agreement with you. What a nice facility to have ran so poorly. I got to the track around three and the water truck had yet to hit the track. Heck it didn't hit the track until about 5. Didn't start hot laps until after 8. The fans and race teams deserve to be able to get out of a race track at  a decent hour. I made my first and last trip to Red River Speedway.

Kinda glad I missed that one. Car count sounds great, however a track rework at near midnight......LOL   6 classes are way too many, espically when you have door bangers. I was there last year, and yes they had trouble cleaning up after crashes then too...... Nice try RRS...

I did not attend last year and had heard about such issues.  Was planning a weekend trip to Red River and then go over to Petty, but with Petty gone, was not going to make drive to Meeder, which also was not going to happen....total bummer for Red River Region.  And 6 classes....well duh, it does not take one of those laid-off NASA rocket scientist to see what is going to happen here!!!!  I try to make new tracks every year chasing sprint cars.  I cannot see Red River being added to my list without some positive improvements.
