While perusing the various series' schedules today, I noticed the Short Track Nationals and the Cocopah event aren't on there anymore. Did the Ascs piss in yet another promoter's Cheerios or are these events not happening?

I looked at I-30's schedule and it still list the STN but has no information about it being an ASCS sanction.  In addition I went to Cocopah's website and the ASCS 2 day show that was scheduled for the end of the year is no longer listed.  However they do list a 1 day show for ASCS/SW region.  Just when I thought that the National Tour was expanding and growing, it looks like we have these important dates cancelled.  WHY!!

STN will not be sanctioned by ASCS after they screwed Tracy last year. Thus why there are not national series races at i30 either. Normally there are 3+ stn

There is a strong rumor that one of the other mult day events the Ascs has listed isn't going to happen either. Allegedly, the Ascs just assumed they were sanctioning it. Stay tuned for that one.

everyone saw the enormous mistake that was taking place, by the Ascs,  letting go of Tommie Estes and Lonnie Wheetley. I use to be the biggest Ascs fan out there... Would tout and defend until the end. Now, I'd just as soon save my money for a good paying local show or the occasional road trip to Iowa or Indiana

ASCS better watch their Ps and Qs. They are about to get blown off the map by 410s. With the All Stars and Renegades fixing their problem, and the advent of the National Sprint Tour, They may begin to be ignored by fans. This season will be interesting to say the least.

I believe ascs is in a transition mode at this time . Are they going away ? No I don't believe that will happen the region series are for the most part healthy.  The National tour has hit a few bumps in the road however so has the outlaws and the allstars . Yes I realize that it looks as tony is buying them oit but still have had struggles in the past.

Ascs Northwest went the way of the buffalo, same as the Rocky Mountain Region a few years back. With the National series fixing heat races on the NW swing in 2013 not many people up here really trust them. They're coming back to the NW this year for Dirt Cup and the Fred Brownfield Memorial, let's hope the don't make those mistakes again !!

The Northern Plains region went away a few years ago and now the Midwest Region is a thing of the past.

What is the "Rest of the story" about the 2 November dates out at Cocopah being cancelled?  Did ASCS or Cocopah make this decission? And why?  It has been one of the best attended and best purses of the season and a great event for everyone.  Could it be because Cocopah scheduled the January 5 night show for 410's and not a winter or early spring race for ASCS?  Was this in retaliation by ASCS?  What really happened?  Shooting one's self in the foot is one thing but pointing the gun at your foot, then pulling the trigger is another.

little to no money to be made having an Ascs national show. Just ask the fine folks at lone star speedway.

As as far as I-30 speedway and the Ascs go, allegedly the Ascs made some kind of agreement(s) and didn't follow through. Something major had to have happened. I-30 seemed to support them when few others would and, in fact, the very first Ascs national race was held there.

Cocopah is the exception.  The ASCS National shows have made the owners good money.  I actually talked with the Promoter before the Winter Heat and he was extremely pleased with the turnouts and rewards from the shows.  I have attended two of the ASCS shows there and the recent Winter Heat for 410's.  The crowds were similar for both groups, with the final nights a near sell out.  The actual racing itself, I thought was more competitive with more passing with ASCS.  And the purse was much less for ASCS.  From a profit standpoint, I would think the ASCS shows were better for the owners.  However, I do believe the future of Winter Heat will grow and expand in the near future.  Yuma is a great place to spend a few weeks in during the winter months, especially January.  I already plan to spend the entire month of January there next year.  I've been researching rentals there during the winter and they are very reasonable.

I live out here in Yuma and thought this last year, after NO banquet, that something was up! Can't get a straight answer from Greg or Bryan!

Lucky you, to live in Yuma.  At least in the winter time, but the summers can be unbearable.  I hope they work something out.  I was so, looking forward to attending both ASCS and Winter heat this next season.
