my thoughts are that with the 360 Knoxville nationals , drivers such as Swindell and others who normally race 410 and or world of outlaws should not be allowed to run in the 360 nationals ,this is the 360's chance to shine and many of the teams do not have the funding to compete against the bigger names and teams !

I don't see why they shouldn't be able to race. I mean if they have a 360 it should be open to them to run.

The 360 class is long past being a money saving entry level racing class.

The top dogs on the national 360 scene spend more money than a lot of non-WoO 410 teams do.

I understand your point but then again who says the 360 nationals are easier? Sammy has tried but never won, kinser has never won. If drivers felt it would be easy then wouldn't most of the "big name" 410 guys race in it? If someone has the ability to drive both well then power to them. More cars the better. Besides everyone will be chasing the blue number 40 wink

Race track owners and promoters from around the country have one goal in mind when they put on a big event like this. Make a profit. Why would you not allow big name drivers that could up interest and attendance? Once again, it's not about fairness and feel good stories. It's about making money. So is Osky, and so are the 410 nationals. Put butts in the seats. Dropping your car count and watering down talent (not meant as a slam, but it is what it is) will not put butts in the seat. In a perfect world, your idea would be great. Never going to happen and wouldnt expect it to.

So drivers like Wayne Johnson, Jason Johnson, Tony Bruce, Brady Bacon, Chappel, etc etc etc etc etc..shouldn't be able to run the 410 nationals?

All of our points being made, IF there was a way to keep the attendance up AND fill the field with 360's, I would be all for it. Not disagreeing with what you want to see. Just trying to say if I was promoting the race, I would never ban anyone from entering.

When the 360 Nationals were formed 15 to 20 years ago, you had to participate in a percentage of 360 racing and then ok'd to run in the 360 Nationals. These racers were then just 360 racers, now it has been opened up to any rich 410 race team to just purchase a $30.000 motor and run for the championship. Is that fair?

Sprint car racing isn't fair. It isn't ment to be fair. Was never a fair playing field, will never be a fair playing field.

Why would a 410 team that never runs a 360 buy one for $30000 to try and win a $10000 to win event?

If no rules were broken----then it's fair. The reason they don't have to ok a driver now----they want those drivers in the field to draw spectators. (you know, spectators, the people that pay the bills) I cannot disagree with you on wanting to keep it pure, but quit acting like they are idiots for allowing these "outlaws" to jump into this race. It is to make money!!

You should get your wish this year. With Toby taking the 410's off the card Sat night, you'll see less of those invaders in town before Sunday. Ive probally been to Sat of the 360's the past 10 years as I felt it was one of the best nights of racing all year. But with a missed chance to see the big 360 show plus the invaders, Im considering missing it this year to go to Pevely. Hard to believe Im saying that since Im a big 360 supporter.

So by all rights do you namely just want to ban Sammy? He won't race it this year anyways cause he's running the full schedule with the Outlaws so he'll be in Pevely. Other than him who is it your looking to ban? I would say it would be a slippery slope if you started saying who could and couldn't run it do to their qualifications. Isn't the 360 and 410 Nationals suppose to be the biggest and best of each class so to me if you start saying you can't race this class that takes away from the winners bragging rights cause then people just say, well Sammy wasn't allowed to race it so you didn't really beat everyone. Its not like Sammy has won it 10 years in a row and everyone is sick of it, I don't think he's won the 360 once has he.

Are you sure about this? Are you not thinking about the Brodix race that used to be run on Sunday? It was invitation only and was restricted to 360 guys who had won championships or were in the top 5 or so in points in their 360 series. You had to be approved to enter. I didn't know the 360 Nationals ever had restrictions. I could be wrong though.

There have been 410 competitors in the 360 Nationals since the beginning. I was asking him a trick question...
