Hello All,

This is Mike Price, an Opperman's cousin. I just joined recently and wanted to say hi to all.

Thanks,

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the Hoseheads message board family. Jan Opperman sure was a great racer and interesting person. I started watching Opp race in 1969 and always enjoyed talking with him. He will always be my favorite sprint car driver. What memories, especially of Opp and Kenny Weld battles. As you can tell by my username and signature line, I'm an Opp fan!

....Opperman forever!

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, Jan was an interesting person and loved racing. Jan was known as the "king of outlaw" racing. I remember asking him when he was laid up what he thought about and all he said was going 250mph. He loved to go fast.

Welcome sir! I too am, and have always been a fan of Mr. Opperman. I remember as though it was yesterday seeing him lap up to third place at Midwest Speedway all those years ago. He hauled the 4X in on an open trailer, and WHUPPED 'em all.

I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.
