Be sure to let me know if you do get to PA sometime. I had about about 10-12 years where I traveled anywhere and everywhere (never made it to Cali., though) In recent years, though, I have cut my traveling way down. I enjoy our Northeast Modifieds and dirt Late Models as much as Sprint Cars, so a lot of the traveling I still do is just as likely to be for a Modified race or a Late Model race. I disagree with you in these PA vs. the World threads. But I still find you to be one of the more rational posters in these threads.

I'm such a knuckle head that I don't even know what part of these "Posse vs the world" threads you disagree with me in so I'm going with all. Right now things are looking good for a Summer Nationals trip in July!

IMO, the WoO races at the Grove aren't always the best flavor of what PA racing is, because there are a ton of five-race a year idiots that show up when the Outlaws are in town. But I can understand why you would want to see an Outlaw race if you were to travel that far.

The one thing I will say with near certainty is that some of the things that are claimed to be absolutes about the racing and fans in CPA aren't really so absolute. Sorta like the "Slowest Half-Mile in America" BS that is a staple of every Grove discussion on here. As the Schatz crash shows, the Grove isn't slow; it's just a legit half-mile, not a 4/10 claiming to be a half-mile.

It was in one of these threads that a poster mentioned that so many of the people from outside this area that get upset are being worked by a screen persona turned up to full blast. I pretty much agree with that. Some of things posted on here are so over the top that it is hard to believe posters actually believe it. But I am just as guilty of letting local passions get away from me as well.

I know Powerslave came here for the ASCoC shows last year, and he commented how surprised he was because so much of what you read on here in not the reality of the overall atmosphere and experience.

I gotta know one thing though... do I have to wear a Cody Darrah shirt to survive? I was planning on wearing my Kyle Larson gear. wink

As for Tyler, congrats to him. But at least be honest. He has looked horrible much of the year in PA. Friday night, he was 41st fast out of 44 cars in TT, then done after the C-main after a battle with a 16-year-old 410 rookie. Supposedly, Tyler has a wrench coming from Cali to help turn things around? Hopefully, that will help. No way should the Keen car be as slow as it is most nights.

If I'm not mistaken Tyler won last night at Port Royal with Hodnett, Layton and Henderson in tow. I think that was against some of the best talent out their so lets be fair on that point as well. Even though the team has some problems they managed to get that car in the winners circle. I'm still getting the sense that some posters only think Williams Grove matters when it comes to sprint car racing.

If anyone thinks Tyler Walker won't win at Williams Grove... well, I really don't know what to say to them. I just hope we don't get a bunch of posters from California pounding their chest when it happens but I'm guessing they will.

The 410 field at Port is OK but there's only 8-10 good cars there for a regular show. Beating Hodnett there is an accomplishment. Lincoln has a little bit better field on Saturday nights. Neither field is close to WG. I have no doubt that Tyler can win a race at the Grove but he hasn't done it yet. I remember him getting 2nd in a WOO race at the Grove several years back in the 35. With his points average, he should be in the catbirds seat when we go back to handicapping.

Absolutely. With one exception that I ran into at lincoln last year, all of the people were great and were happy to see fans come to their track from far out of the area. Ofcourse, the fans were all pulling for the home team so to speak but, nobody was abusive about it and all had great things to say about the visiting drivers.

Don't believe the hype people. The central PA fans are just passionate race fans like most of the rest of us. They have every right to be very proud of their local race teams. Infact, I would question any fan that wasn't loyal to their locals no matter where they might be. For the most part these drivers are people from your very own communities. They may have went to the same school as you or send their kid's to the same school that you send yours to ect. ect...

Dirt track racing is all about grass roots, blue collar men(and sometimes ladies) putting it on the line and entertaining us all. It starts on the local level and that's where it should be at it's strongest. The invaders are exactly that, invaders. Repell their ass' at all costs.

Soory to inform you but that Beer Can did not come from Beer Hill. It came from the Infield and the guy was caught and promtly removed. If that can had come from the Hill he would've most def. got his ass kicked. Yes there are drinkers on Beer Hill, but never have I seen anyone from Beer Hill do such a classless thing like throwing a full can of Beer at a guy who might be seriously hurt in is racecar even befor the track crew got to him. So PLAESE GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT BEFORE MAKING ASSUMPTIONS.

Quicktime was correct. The can came from outside the track at 1:46. So is Beer Hill behind the WG sign?

I disagree. Watch very closely at the fans lined up along the fence. At the 1:46 mark of this video, many of the fans turn and look towards the infield. I'm no Sherlock Holmes, but it would appear to me that these people knew where the can came from.

This is like analysing the reactions of people standing on the parade route in Dallas to determine whether the fatal JFK head shot came from the grassy knoll or the book depository. LOL

Ricci, I know you were was just joking about needing to wear a Cody Darrah shirt, but it's like anything else. If you come looking for trouble, you will certainly find it. I am speaking in generalities and not singling you out specifically, but if someone shows up at the Grove and starts to get mouthy about the local racers while surrounded by fans, friends and family of the locals, problems will arise. The famous BRR race report that has been posted on here hundreds of times with MSPN sitting in the VIP Section bears that out. If you are just looking to have a good time and see a new track, you will be fine.

I would never go to Williams Grove to watch a sprint car try to go straight down the long front and backstretch.

"I was with you on this post up until that point. I think it's more Williams Grove then PA. Tyler Walker has already tallied two wins at Port Royal this year and in two different cars. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Port Royal is still in PA."

Right on the money. Bottom line, Posse is undeniably awesome at the Grove, not so much elsewhere. Probably why none of them showed in Virginia last night for $10k to win, $800 to start.

wasnt Paulis in Knox this week ? whats with that?

Why would a driver, who is running for points at either track, Port or Lincoln go up to VA?

Tyler Walker will win at the Grove, especially since his point average has been a joke so he will up front and fighting with some of the squirrels. I thought they would be good this week, but come on, 2 C-main runs. I'm glad he won at Port, he needs something to build off of. Hopefully this new crew chief that is coming on will help him, so he can be a contender each and every week in PA.
