It was only last week that I posted something about the 15's luck changing soon, then to have some hero wreck him on the first lap at Williams Grove, wow what a video, what a bad wreck. The hatred and jealousy. As a person who watched a lot of races at Husets when T-Mac was regularly winning, I was on the cheering side of the deal, but it is nearly the same type of hatred that half the Huset's crowd had for Terry that possibly 2/3rd of WoO fans have for Schatz. He came in and won and won big, real big. Altoona's T-Mac dominated for years. Somebody said, maybe Foyt, not sure, that he'd didn't mind the booing, as long as they came to the races, but I think if he ever logged into the DV chat room during a race, he'd change his mind. The hatred and vicious comments are directed at one driver and only one driver, the one that has dominated winged sprint car racing for what seems like a long time, but is only 4 years. I listen to DV, but ain't logged in to the chat room since the middle of last summer. And this PA thing? Most of the good drivers are former Outlaws and if they run weekly at that odd-shaped Grove, they should never lose to an outsider.
Lawlessness + liberalism = HELL - NYC, Detroit, Chicago,
Seattle, LA Who the H runs those cities.

I am not a fan of Schatz but I thought that was a horrible crash and I would never wish that anyone would be hurt
Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

So be it Sprintfan32... not that there isn't trouble during our weekly shows from time to time, but when the WoO come to town they also bring trouble makers, the ones who do not come until they return. some out of town/state followers and even Pennsyltuckians that follow these guys do what they want, start fights, sit in reserved seats and then want to fight ya because the owners of the seats show up and ask them to please move and now they have no where to sit because the house has been filled up. happens every year and has happened to me a few times. The atmosphere at the grove is second to none and when you have shows like this your gonna have issues. So I think you may be missing out on a good chance of taking in this environment and catching a good race to boot. as for any other big race at a track you add booze, large crowds and some rivalry, you have the potential of some shiote happening!

We welcome you. Love new cars visiting here, they get to sit back and watch what I get to see Weekly

I kinda suspect this a gimmick account for a regular poster because it seems weird to join the message board just to make a first post about how you won't be coming to PA because of the fans at the Grove. If your post is serious, though, you are missing out. The regular shows are fine. +1 on what 130 wrote about WoO shows bringing out a group of knuckleheads that are never seen any other time of the year. The Grove is one of the best places you can attend with young children because kids can play in the infield. Many fans with with young children choose to watch the races from the infield for this very reason.

Love how out of line this has gotten. Schatz was headed for 3 and wanted to plant the RR, Montieth was already facing in, putting his left a little inside. Then, with every other sanctioned event in the world, they call it: racing. You can argue, niether driver was being malicious, they were RACING. Sorry to the WoO fans who lost their hope then.
It's PA, there local racers, they hold up better than anywhere else in the country (...hold up = 6 straight), they turnover drivers (Wolfe, Darrah) and they keep winning. CA & the midwest has great racing as well...were happy to take their exports (Walker, Pittman), but they never did anything here the people that left PA didn't do. Hopefully, with the news I'm getting on team shake up and his win last night, Tyler's about to make that claim harder for me...

I was with you on this post up until that point. I think it's more Williams Grove then PA. Tyler Walker has already tallied two wins at Port Royal this year and in two different cars. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Port Royal is still in PA.

Right on the money. Bottom line, Posse is undeniably awesome at the Grove, not so much elsewhere. Probably why none of them showed in Virginia last night for $10k to win, $800 to start.

Or more likely the only reason they run Florida before the season starts and Charlotte after it's over is because they are penalized so heavily by our local tracks for even running Knoxville.
I'm sure Rahmer has made more money running locally in his lifetime than he would have following the circus considering travel costs. I'm also sure most car owners are happy to be able to watch their cars race every weekend as well. If you ask me guys like Rahmer and Hodnett are smarter, especially in this day and age. Saldana is on top and even he doesn't seem that happy on the road.

That's a good point but on the other hand Saldana has over $87,000 in winnings already and we're only half way into May. Joey hates on himself even after a win so I think that's more a personality trait then anything series related.

I got a question for the PA fans on here...I always hear on WoO televised races that Rahmer gets booed alot of the time there. Do the fans boo him when he wins against the WoO or just weekly races? Just wonderin
|
They boothey swear and call him all kinds of names when he wins or stops in front of the crowd. He is booed every week, but when he wins an Outlaw show all the Booers cheer for him. Stupid right?

Even if he gets 50% it still costs an arm and a leg trapesing around the country in a motorhome. Stewart and Kahne might pay their guys big salary's, but then again maybe not... but most Outlaw guys are living off of t-shirt sales and a percentage. Rahmer has sold a lot of t-shirts and pulled down some huge salaries in his career. More than most Outlaws and he gets to sleep in his own bed each night.

The left front tire of the 21, hooked the right rear tire of the 15, that's what through the 15 to the right so violantly, it was very close racing. The 15 was in that position because he spun the tires on the start and was just trying to hold his line and settle in because that car always runs well at the end. I was really impressed with the 15 team, because after loading that wreck in the hauler they watched the last few laps of the race and were rootin for Freddy and Sam. It was a good race, and when Fred came off the scales they were the first to run over to him and congradulate him. Then leppo showed up later and congradulated Sam for his good run. That is the real racin community, not that idiot that was yelling and throwing a full can of beer at Schatz while they were getting him out of a totally destroyed race car. And i am from Pa. and i've been going to the Grove for over 48 years. (they really need to do something to those drunks on beer hill. There may not be many of them, but the few are nothing short of crazy. And they give the many good race fans in pa a bad name. If you watch the 2nd video you can see the beer can coming from the hill, at 1:46 into the video. Good to talk to you Rail.
|
Soory to inform you but that Beer Can did not come from Beer Hill. It came from the Infield and the guy was caught and promtly removed. If that can had come from the Hill he would've most def. got his ass kicked. Yes there are drinkers on Beer Hill, but never have I seen anyone from Beer Hill do such a classless thing like throwing a full can of Beer at a guy who might be seriously hurt in is racecar even befor the track crew got to him. So PLAESE GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT BEFORE MAKING ASSUMPTIONS.

The reason no one went to Saluda is because it is over four hours from CPA, and there are options north or south within an hour of Harrisburg. If a team is running for points locally, it is stupid to throw away the entire season by skipping a week.
As for Tyler, congrats to him. But at least be honest. He has looked horrible much of the year in PA. Friday night, he was 41st fast out of 44 cars in TT, then done after the C-main after a battle with a 16-year-old 410 rookie. Supposedly, Tyler has a wrench coming from Cali to help turn things around? Hopefully, that will help. No way should the Keen car be as slow as it is most nights.

If I'm not mistaken Tyler won last night at Port Royal with Hodnett, Layton and Henderson in tow. I think that was against some of the best talent out their so lets be fair on that point as well. Even though the team has some problems they managed to get that car in the winners circle. I'm still getting the sense that some posters only think Williams Grove matters when it comes to sprint car racing.
If anyone thinks Tyler Walker won't win at Williams Grove... well, I really don't know what to say to them. I just hope we don't get a bunch of posters from California pounding their chest when it happens but I'm guessing they will.

Actually, I wouldn't even disagree with you about people thinking only WG matters. The big three three Sprint Car across the country will always be Williams Grove, Eldora and Knoxvile, and I don't mean that as any kind of disrespect to anywhere else. Even in our weekly racing here in PA, a lot of people think only WG matters because the field splits on Saturday nights. The Grove is the track in PA where all the locals want to win.

From the perspective of just one west coast sprint car fan the big three races in my opinion are the Knoxville Nationals, Eldora's Kings Royal and Chico's Gold Cup.
That said, Williams Grove is high on my list of race tracks to attend and in the not to distant future I look forward to shaking your hand in person.

Be sure to let me know if you do get to PA sometime. I had about about 10-12 years where I traveled anywhere and everywhere (never made it to Cali., though) In recent years, though, I have cut my traveling way down. I enjoy our Northeast Modifieds and dirt Late Models as much as Sprint Cars, so a lot of the traveling I still do is just as likely to be for a Modified race or a Late Model race. I disagree with you in these PA vs. the World threads. But I still find you to be one of the more rational posters in these threads.
