Looked like nothing more than 2 cars racing close and touched.
Neither one of those two at (especailly at that speed) would intentionally want to touch another wheel, berm or guardrail on purpose.
I would hope neither one is blaming the other as it sure looked like to us there was no blame to even REMOTELY assess to either driver.
Just a nutty, crazy, fast sport that sh!t happens in with no explanation from time to time.

Well I agree mostly with that but one thing that should be pointed out is that the 15 was ahead of the 21. Even if he did move up the track a little to set up for the corner, he can't see the other driver coming up on his outside. The driver that's behind, in this case the 21, CAN see the other car(15). So you tell me who is responsible for the contact that started the wreck.
Brian is a gasser for sure but he is usually a very clean racer. Maybe he was just being a little more agressive since the WOO was in town.

what no one has seemed to notice is that the 21 car plainly hit a bump while it was coming up on the outside of the 15. you can see in the slo-mo that the car hits a bump, goes up then comes down just as it looks like the 15 starts looking to the outside. that seems to send the 21 to the left a bit. you all with your blind biased one sided opinons are welcome to them, but you are just feeding your own infatuations.

I didn't say Montieth did or didn't do anything bad or good last night or last 5 years.
I only commented on what I saw in the film that was posted here of the start of his and Schatz's deal.
If you look back on my post's over the years I am a fan of Schatz, I just can't see anyone was at fault in the PARTICULAR incident.

Hey, didn't the 21 have any brakes?
They were trying to win it on the first lap.

The left front tire of the 21, hooked the right rear tire of the 15, that's what through the 15 to the right so violantly, it was very close racing. The 15 was in that position because he spun the tires on the start and was just trying to hold his line and settle in because that car always runs well at the end. I was really impressed with the 15 team, because after loading that wreck in the hauler they watched the last few laps of the race and were rootin for Freddy and Sam. It was a good race, and when Fred came off the scales they were the first to run over to him and congradulate him. Then leppo showed up later and congradulated Sam for his good run. That is the real racin community, not that idiot that was yelling and throwing a full can of beer at Schatz while they were getting him out of a totally destroyed race car. And i am from Pa. and i've been going to the Grove for over 48 years. (they really need to do something to those drunks on beer hill. There may not be many of them, but the few are nothing short of crazy. And they give the many good race fans in pa a bad name. If you watch the 2nd video you can see the beer can coming from the hill, at 1:46 into the video. Good to talk to you Rail.

For an unbiased decision , Montieth had a good run around the outside of Schatz and from the way it looks Schatz had no idea Montieth was there. Just from what I see It looks like Schatz drifted up not knowing anyone was up there and they touched wheels.Unless we could a see video of them coming straight at the camera it really tough to make a call.It happened so fast neither driver could probably react quick enough. My final decision both parties are not guilty. Case closed!

In all fairness, so much of the jealous bashing and name calling toward teams and fans in PA comes from people wishing the Outlaws would get beat when they tow into their local areas.

Like him or hate him, I never like to see racers take a ride like that.

The a-hole with the beer was in the infield, just to clarify. As I said before, fans in the infield and on the hill let him know that it was a BS move on his part.

WOW!!!!! i don't post on here often but some of you guys are astonishing. it was a racing deal, stop getting your rocks off just bc schatz got taken out. it was a wild ride and thank god he is ok. i dont even like the guy but something like that is never good. and btw, some of you blind a$$holes on here that say it was his fault are RETARDED!!!!!! montieth has a steering wheel, gas, and brake pedal like everyone else. did schats have a mirror no one knew about to see him there? i dont think so. its racing, if you just want to see who is just flat out fastest, go watch drag racing. sprint drivers have to drive, do you just hit the guy on the freeway that cuts you off? no, you hit the brakes. now at 120+mph the same concept applies. and ass for the guy that threw a beer can, he ought to be taken out back and whipped. grow up people. unless you are in their shoes, stop throwing stones. or until you can afford to pay for it and put someone in the same position shut up. i have lost a dear friend in a horrific sprint car wreck like that and there is no need for cheering about a wreck like that.

Most of them would put it on the line, if we were there or not... Sure, some driver's enjoy interacting with the fan's, and are great guy's. And sure, most forms of racing needs the fans, and consumers, but don't be confused about why many of them race. Sorry, but it's not really about you and I when their strapped in. Those guy's that run the Dakar rally are a perfect example of racing with it all on the line, just because they love it. Yes there are exceptions, but there always is.

To my knowledge, they travel the most out of the big 3 local shows ( Grove, Attica, K-Ville )

wow, after reading this post, it appears there are idot sprint car fans! for one you sound like a jackass, and two the posse have faired ok out there. a few prelim night wins, and not to mention a couple usually make the feature. pretty impressive seeing the best cars/drivers in the country are there and making the 25 car field out of 90 plus is pretty damn impressive if you ask me!
by the way last time outlaws won in pa 2008!

Didn't Stevie Smith finish 3rd at Nationals?
Alright - I'm done. My brain hurts too much from the comments in this thread.

Last I heard Schatz ran third tonight in Virginia.
"14" won. Some day maybe Kinser will put Meyer's name on their site.
