Story going up soon at SPEEDtv.com:

(Charlotte, NC)

Jim Chiappelli

Tony Stewart Racing Saturday announced the addition of Jessica Zemken to its stable of drivers. A New York native, Zemken will run what the team calls a "true outlaw" schedule in 2010, competing in a variety of 410 and 360 sprint car races, including stints with the World of Outlaws and All Star Circuit of Champions. "It's an awesome opportunity," Zemken said Saturday at The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway, where she competed in the World of Outlaws World Finals. "To be around a team with so much knowledge and experience is going to be great," she added. TSR looks at this effort as more of a satellite team as opposed to a full-time deal. Stewart already fields World of Outlaws sprint car teams for Donny Schatz and Kraig Kinser. Instead, TSR is taking Zemken's existing car number 1z team under its wing and will provide technical assistance.

JZ is going to run some All Star Circuit of Champions races?

That must have been one successful meeting in Dayton last Monday.

I'm sure Bubba will have all the details soon.

Gonna backpedal on your recent posts, John Katich?

Get owned, keep it real, John Katich style.

Why would I "backpedal" on anything I wrote? Everything I said about Monday's meeting was discussed. Circumstances AFTER the meeting caused some of those people to re-evaluate their position. Sounds like that whole deal is dead in the water.

Maybe Bubba knows...

Tony and JZ were seen together at the Nationals a lot so their relationship is not just a recent deal. I'd imagine Smoke and Smokette have a lot more in the common interests category than that big-boobed-blonde-bombshell that he previously was seeing as she appeared to be fairly "high maintenance". Jessica seems to be a pretty nice gal and a damn decent driver so far as well.

It's great that Jessica's getting some backing so she can show what a good driver she is. Saw her at The Front Row Challenge a few years back & she was quite impressive. 1st time on the track, 410 engine instead of the 350 she'd been racing all year and against some of the best sprint car talent there is; then she got a 6th place finish. Damn good for ANY driver!! Plus, she ain't hard to look at either!! I, for one, am sure she'll prove how good she drives; now that she'll have the equipment & $$$ to back her.

I spoke with Emmitt Hahn briefly about the "new tour" on Friday night at the Oval Nationals. According to him, there were three tracks possibly involved (Eldora, Fremont and Attica) and that "about 75 percent" of the people at the Monday meeting walked away feeling pretty good about it. (I believe he also said that Attica was the hold out of the three, but I wasn't taking notes plus the A-main was rolling off, so don't quote me on that.)

What Hahn told me was that (paraphrasing) "if this is going to turn into a war, no one wants to get involved." As of Friday, he put the chances of something happening at about 50/50.

Also, what a great guy he is to speak with. A class act all the way, taking plenty of time to talk to a small fry reporter like me.
