how many points does it normally take to get in the A and B mains

I believe it is normally about 440 - 450 to make the A & around 400 to make the B.

Typically right around 440 will get you locked into the A. In year's past 460 and up usually make the A scramble if memory serves me correctly. Schatz will likely be in the front two rows of the scramble. Maybe not, though. If the 10 fast times tonight all finish in the top 10 in the feature and finish 1st or 2nd in their heats, almost all of them would be ahead of Schatz.
