I've seen praise for the World of Outlaws all over the sprint car pages on Facebook after Kyle raced Friday night at Knoxville. Many are criticizing Nascar while praising the Outlaws. DId I miss something or did they not both give essentially the same penalty?

I'm not sure if NASCAR has reinstated him yet, even after completing sensitivity training which I think was their only requirement. Speculating here, but they probably also want to meet with him to "discuss matters" before giving Kyle the green light.

But do we know he completed the sensitivity training for Nascar or are we speculating he did because he fulfilled the Outlaws requirements? I still see no difference in the way it was handled by either organization yet Nascar is being torched and the outlaws are being praised all over social media.

It may have changed since Friday but, as of Friday Nascar had not lifted its suspension. That is the only difference that I can see. WRG stated that he completed sensitivity training and fulfilled all necessary requirements. I do not believe he needed to take 2 classes (1 for each organization) but just the one. From what I saw on Friday, either said he was still suspended indefinately or just had not commented or lifted the suspension yet.
Either way I don't think it is too much of a deal as I don't think anyone will be picking up him as a driver this week anyway. It's not like if they reinstated him the same time that WRG did that he would be racing in the next race. Only way that would happen is if one of those small teams with no sponsors to answer too picked him up but I am still not sure if there would have been enough time for that to happen

I'm with you----when someone comes knocking on the door, he'll be reinstated. Nascar will save face and keep him shelved for image purposes until a ride comes along. But, if someone offered him a ride, and he has in fact met their criteria for reinstatement, they will reinstate him. Getting a ride for Knoxville last week was going to be pretty easy to do. We'll see what opportunities await in Nascar. Not expecting much for now.

NASCAR is more strict about reinstatement and even when he gets their approval he will need a team willing to give him a chance and sponsors willing to come onboard. Obviously NASCAR teams are spending more money than any WoO team and it follows that they'll need bigger companies as sponsors. Bigger companies often do business internationally and are more image conscious. On the other hand, the Outlaws never banned him from driving in the series, only required sensitivity training, so there is no probationary period or reinstatement involved.
He could be spending the better part of this season running with the Outlaws. I mentioned this in another thread but I'll repeat that I'm not sure how much his performance with the Outlaws will affect future NASCAR opportunities. NASCAR seems to have the attitude that they are the ultimate racing and when drivers moonlight in Sprints they're just out having fun on an off night. If Kyle goes out and gets beat up by the Outlaw regulars night in and night out what affect will that have on future NASCAR prospects? I don't know, just throwing that out there as a talking point.

Kyle Larson is done with NASCAR. Time to move on. He has both his homes up for sale (one isn't finished yet).

I don't think that it would hurt that much. He is a proven commodity in Nascar and probably just needs a sponsor to take a chance on him again.

Why are we talking about this like it even matters what NASCAR does now?

Kyle is not done with NASCAR. He is selling houses to get out from under them as he does not know future for sure. My guess is if he sells one house he will keep the other. If I was Kyle I would live in a $350,000 house and save my money for the future. But what the hell do I know?

You have inside information that nobody else knows so you should call the NASCAR media and sell your story. Selling his homes isn't any indication that he'll never go back to NASCAR. There is big money there that would be hard to walk away from and he can always buy another home in the Carolinas.

Why wouldn't it matter what NASCAR does? It's racing and the source of a lot of support for Sprint Car racing. I don't get why any fan of racing would be anti NASCAR.

Article also says he still owns some more land in the area that's not for sale. Another option for a future home.

I was introduced to Sprint Car racing in 1960 and my dad liked NASCAR as well so I started watching that as soon as they started televising it. I don't look at it as Sprint Car racing OR NASCAR racing but as Sprint Car racing AND NASCAR. It's a different type of racing but as you pointed out, is a great excuse for a Sunday afternoon nap. But seriously, I watch most of their races and follow the latest news. It seems like some consider it an obligation as Sprint Car fans to dislike it and I'm a free spirit and don't give in to peer pressure. I like dirt Late Models and can get into Modified races as well. It's all good.

I think you guys may be missing the point, which is it's just totally irrelevant whether or not NASCAR chooses to reinstate Larson right now at this particular time. They can reinstate him tomorrow and you still ain't gonna see him on a NASCAR track when they resume racing.

Haters gonna hate and be hateful. Larson WILL be back and you will be eating crow! He has too much talent and is still young. Wait and see.
