Really happy for the Zemco team and Logan Wagner.  He has really matured as a driver especially on the slip and slide dust bowl at the slow palace.  Have known him for many years and a super nice guy and great family.  Would love to see them run the entire speedweek.

I watched it on speedshift last night along with Lincoln and Stateline Speedway.  We also had dirtvision running.  Some good racing but from all these tracks....but, I swear someone has stolen the water truck keys! Most of these tracks were wore out before the features started rolling out onto the track.....in some cases it was like racing on aspalt.  Since the early  80's I have been going to dirt track racing and I don't like what I am seeing at all these tracks.  There is very little excitement anymore at these tracks.  They better wake up soon.  Nobody want to see napcar type racing!

He is a one trick pony because the Zemco team basicially only runs at Port Royal. Logan has proven he can win at other tracks throughot his career including Lernerville & BAPS....the kid is a racer and a nice person too boot.....

Do you want to see something really alarming about Port last night?

1st - 410 Feature - Fastest lap 18.421 in the feature

305 Feature - Fastest Lap 20.537 in the feature

2nd - 410 Feature - Fastest Lap 19.648 in the feature

With how the track was last night we could have had some of the faster 305's make it into the 410 feature.....just saying....the Slow Palace at its finest!

I believe the Zemco team is winning races with a Schnee chassis. As far as I know, they are the only team in Central Pa running one in the world of Maxim's, xXx's, J&J's etc......

Yes, 105 more cubic inches.... and only a second difference.  Not to mention the difference in HP.  Not bashing only stating facts.  I know that makes a lot of people on here very nervous.  There should be a lot bigger gap between a 410 to a 305 at any stage of the night.  I almost fell asleep during both of those features. The slow palace is always hard, black, and dry!

Oh, jeez. Fast time in the 305s last night at Knoxville was 1.4 seconds off fast time in the 410s. Fast time in the 305s outqualified several of the cars at the back of  410s.

With those same 105 more cubic inches at Knoxville that you are ripping Port about, there was only a little more than a second difference between the fastest 410 and the fastest 305.

The difference is Knoxville knows how to prepare a track. They have it extremely wet at the beginning of the night.  Port needs to be introduced to the water truck.

Port doesn't have a clue how to prepare a track.  Every week it is the same thing a slip and slide all night long and that equals horrible racing!  

In the Features there were several 305's that were faster than the 410's in the first and second features at the Slow Palace.  Port has the worst track surface in central PA bar none!  I only posted the fastest time in each of the features in my previous post.

Well you also know that they ran 2 features, 40 Laps total plus qualitifying and heats and rules stated that teams couldn’t change right rears after either feature....not one flat tire all night. Track couldn’t have been too bad

With all of the entertainment options in central PA why do you keep going back to places you dont like? Go to a track you do like and enjoy it.

Here's the kicker: he doesn't go to those places. He sits at home watching lap times. Port's surface sucked Saturday. That he's right about. Once again, if that had been Williams Grove or Lincoln people would be bitching to no end but since it's Port, they were ok with it but that's a whole different subject. That said, despite the bad track, the 2nd feature ended up being a good race. Port has been very good lately. Saturday, they just missed it a little bit but it was still good enough for some decent racing. I was there and I was entertained. The dust made it a bit difficult to watch because from where I sat, turn 4 was pretty much invisible but all in all, it was a good night. I don't care what track it is, they all miss on track prep sometimes. Saturday it was dry and very breezy. I'm sure that had a lot to do with it. I think it would've been a lot better if they'd watered the outside like they usually do but that isn't my call to make. Either way, I still had way more fun being there than I would have sitting at home watching lap times looking for something to bitch about. Strawser needs to get a life. 

The Dunkins at Knoxville (who are apparently held in such high regard!!) purposely prep the track so there is a thin strip of moisture on the bottom (sometimes it's razor thin), slicker than crap through the middle, with a little moisture to lean on up top.  At times I wish there was a bit more moisture on the bottom, but you can't argue that their formula produces great racing. 

It seems like some people around these parts think great racing can occur DESPITE the track conditions... but anybody who has seen sprint cars race on dirt knows it's the other way around.  When the track is prepped to have multiple grooves (per the above) which allows cars that have better drivers and better set-ups -- NOT just better bullets under the hood -- to catch and pass other cars, sometimes going back and forth, and often in the midst of heavy lapped traffic... great racing can occur.  If the track is slick to the fence (with multiple grooves) and doesn't take rubber -- that's called 'winning' (for the track prep guys the drivers, and ultimately the fans).  It seems to me that the Knoxville AND Port track prep crews have been doing a lot of winning lately.

100% agree. Great racing comes with multiple grooves. I'm in as long as there's multiple grooves, doesn't matter to me if its dry/slick or wet/heavy. Personally i'd still rather see it dry/slick, like you said, it takes more than a motor to be fast when its like that. Anyone with a great motor can be fast when its tacky. Dry/slick requires a good set-up and finesse as a driver.
