The NEXT 4 SPRINT CAR BANDITS EVENTS are in the PIPELINE – And Coming to a Track Near You!

Garland, TX (5/17/19) by DarinShort.com. A string of Sprint Car Bandits (SCB) 360C.I. series events are in the pipeline, and all four event flyers are now available for viewing. The first in of which will be held at the new Buffalo Creek Speedway (Canton, TX) on Saturday June 1st, the following Saturday, June 8th at Kennedale Speedway Park, then on to 82 Speedway (Petty, TX) Saturday June 15th, and 105 Speedway (Cleveland TX) on Saturday June 22nd.

Note to racers and SCB teams: NCRA has removed their Saturday May 25th series event off the 81 Speedway (Wichita KS) schedule and compressed their sprint schedule Memorial Day weekend to one day. With the fact that this track is over 360 miles (one way) from the core of the SCB race teams, and with only one date now being available for racing, we have decided not to make the 81 Speedway race a SCB points race. That specific race date is Sunday, May 26th and it will now become a full NCRA rules and points event (and not SCB). We had a great time at 81 Speedway last Memorial Day weekend, and we’ll make plans to return there when we can make it more feasible for our teams. Meanwhile, we wish C. Ray Hall and the 81 Speedway staff continued best of luck (and better weather than they’ve been experiencing in 2019).

Back to this string of SBC events in June, here’s the top-line info for each of them:

Saturday June 1st – Buffalo Creek Speedway is located at 10180 State Highway 19 in Canton and is very easy to get to. Just take the Hwy 19 exit from either direction off I-20 in Canton, then head north approximately four miles and the track entrance will be on the west (left) side of the road. It is also just a short 10-minute drive from the popular First Monday Trade Days in Canton. From Hwy 80, just exit South on Hwy 19 and go three miles south and you will see the track entrance on the West (right) side of the highway. Click www.BCS19.com for all track news and details. The standard SCB purse, rules and procedures will be in effect. Racing will fire off at 8pm.

Saturday June 8th – Kennedale Speedway Park (KSP) is located at 6727 Hudson Village Creek Kennedale, TX 76060. Click www.raceKSP.com for complete track details. You can email [email protected] or Track Promoter Tony Dycus at [email protected] if you need additional information. By searching ‘Kennedale Speedway Park’ on Facebook, you can check out the very latest in track updates, pictures and much more. The standard SCB purse, rules and procedures will be in effect. Note earlier start times at KSP, due to a city-imposed curfew.

Saturday June 15th – 82 Speedway is located about 1 mile east of Petty Texas right on Hwy 82, which is about 20 minutes east of Bonham and 15 minutes west of Paris. 16369 US Hwy 82 Petty, TX 75470. For track and details, go to www.82speedway.com or on Facebook @82Speedway. THIS IS NOT THE OLD PARIS SPEEDWAY! We continue to hear that people think it’s the track southeast of Paris, it is not. This is a 1/3 mile high banked black dirt track contained within a beautiful facility. We’ve had two Sprint Car Bandits events at 82 Speedway in 2019, and each featured spectacular sprint car racing, so we’re all looking forward to returning. The championship feature pays $2,000 to win and $300 to start. Races fire off at 8pm.

Saturday June 22nd – 105 Speedway is located at 1288 Fostoria Road in Cleveland, TX 77328. Just take the Hwy 105 exit off I-69 in Cleveland, then head west for about 4.2 miles, then turn north once you reach Fostoria Road. The track is located up the road 1.2 miles north on the right side of the road. On race day, the track phone number is 281-592-0905. Click www.105SpeedwayRacing.com for the track website. Note early start times at 105 Speedway as shown on the event flyer.

Complete event details will be posted for each track individually as their dates near. However, all events will be standard SCB series rules and procedures. All sprint car teams that sign in will draw for heat race starting positions, regardless of their engine C.I. displacement (up to and including 360C.I.) and will receive passing points to determine their straight-up from points feature race starting position. All drivers make sure to read the posted rules at the series website prior to heading to the track.

RACE FANS: Make plans to arrive about an hour early at these tracks to take in the pre-race Sprint Car Bandits “Fierce 15” Fan Fest! There, you can meet the drivers of the Fierce 15, get selfies, purchase their 2019 t-shirt designs (get them autographed!) and get a good close look at the cars. SCB Fan Fest is an effort to help sprint car racing get back to the good ‘ol days when there was generally more fan interaction with the race teams. Back then it was common for most of the fans to go to the pits after the races to meet with the teams, and now in many cases the races at tracks don’t finish in time to make that feasible. This is an effort to fire back up that interaction by simply flipping the timing element. Pre-race Fan Fest will take place at every SCB series event in 2019.

If you’d like to get your brand new Fierce 15 driver t-shirts prior to Fan Fest, the online store at www.SprintCarBandits.com is now open. Reminder, that proceeds from Fierce 15 driver apparel benefits each individual driver that is a part of the program, so please show your support by grabbing one when you can...and your support will help drivers better funded throughout the season.

These events are also part of the www.SmileysRacing.com 4 Pack Bonus program that awards the SCB Fierce 15 teams with added bonus money, paid out for their support of the Series in increments of each ‘4 Pack’ of SCB events completed throughout the season. The second ‘4 Pack’ just began at Monarch Motor Speedway on May 11th and will conclude after three more completed SCB events. This ‘4 Pack’ will award Fierce 15 drivers with $100 cash each just for competing in each of the four events.

The www.KoolTrikes.com heat races will reward all drivers with $50 for winning their heat races. Make sure to check out their ‘kool’ designs and suspension kits to convert Harley’s to a trike. Anyone out there that would like to become an additional SCB heat race sponsor should contact the series. Email SprintCarBandits.com for more information.

DARE TO BE DIFFERENT: Why are we calling this season the ‘DARE TO BE DIFFERENT’ tour? The SCB series has a unique rules package that allows teams to use their current equipment (especially in the engine compartment) yet curbing nightly tire expense...which helps equalize the competition with teams of varying budget sizes. The SCB “20° wing angle rule” also helps by freeing up the cars to be able to pass easier in many cases that also helps reduce excess tire and engine wear. Our ‘one rear tire all night long’ rule has not only saved racers thousands of dollars over the past three years, but to date, we’ve yet to have one tire fail (blow) due to excess tire wear in any feature race we’ve held.

All these small, yet effective changes, have been accomplished without the racers having to purchase something out of the ordinary. And we essentially haven’t changed the rules since the inception of the series at the end of 2015.

And let’s face it, since the events of 9/11/2001, a lot of the economics of the sport of dirt track racing have changed drastically (especially the cost of travel, track insurance, general crowd sizes, cost of racing components), yet there really hasn’t been much being done on a nationwide level to help counteract those economic impacts. We aren’t trying to say we’ve ‘fixed’ all those impacts, but at least we are doing something to help curb racer expenses – and it’s working.

Our rules package certainly has made for exciting and unpredictable racing outcomes – as there were 13 different feature winners in 16 SCB events in 2018. We’ve already had four first-time winners in our first five events of 2019, so that makes 17 different winners the past 21 events! When you add these components together, that’s a result of why we DARE TO BE DIFFERENT.

If your business is interested in getting involved with the SCB series, please email [email protected] for more information. There are effective programs available for all sizes of budgets.
