Have seen photos today of the Nashville Fairgrounds with dirt on it. I was quite excited when I heard about this event as it seemed to be a little more high profile than normal races, which is always a bonus for fans. However, that has been dampered a bit. This place does not look very safe. Looks like the outside wall of the turn 1 entry is comprised of concrete jersey barriers.

Hard to see the rest of the facility but I can't help but feel disappointment when I see stuff like this. It'll likely be fine but given all the discussion and efforts made by facilities to reduce harm to drivers, this seems like a step in the wrong direction.

With Knoxville running a regular show on Saturday, 1 June, and Mansfield running their 100K unsanctioned race on Thur - Sat, 30 May - 1 June (which will keep the drivers running All Stars full-time at home in Ohio), how many cars will run the Nashville WoO race? 20 - 25? Where else is Nashville going to draw 410s from?

Most likely 20-25 will be the number. Last time that I can remember them in Tennessee was when they were at Volunteer Speedway in 2010 & I think that was a co sanctioned Outlaw & All Star show. I believe the race was late March so they were able to get some drivers from other regions.

I'm really looking forward to the race its ittle longer than a half mile and 18 degrees of banking.   But most of all it is something new and glad the track there is going out on somewhat of a limb here to have this race.  I hope they have a great turn out and wish I had the pocketbook to make it there to watch!

I'm pretty sure they are running on the little oval right off the front stretch, I get a couple feet over a quarter mile on google maps. The pictures I have seen it doesnt look all that safe as mentioned above. I hope the get it all squared away before race time.

It's hard to believe this pays off.  What would it cost to put that much dirt down and take it back up?  How many loads would it take?  It's a ton of work for a couple weekends of racing, if it doesn't rain....    .

You are correct Keyboard Jockey, did some more digging and found an article confirming they are racing the 1/4 track.  Well that takes the wind out of my sails a bit.

Hope the track surface holds up better than the one they laid down on the Rockford, Illinois 1/4 mile high bank......things that make you go hmmmmm........ (although I get it, that Chicago and Nashville are major markets, wondering what the casual fans impression of the show will be......didn't hear good reviews after Rockford.............hope I'm wrong.....SC

I just hope Nashville based rock bands The Black Keys & Kings of Leon are in attendance as their studios are just down the road from the Fairgrounds.

Nice work Sappy, priorities are what make you so relevant these days, you still rock dude.....Love to see one of the band members jump into the Sides back-up just to cash a cheque but I think it will be Paul's job and hell he can race....
