From keloland.com. Chuck is getting ready to clear out the race track if it is not sold by Dec.28. He said if no one buys the race track, it will permanently discontinue operations. Chuck is the biggest A-hole in the world. He thinks because he has a lot of money, everyone should bow down to him. Sorry Chuckie, life doesn't work that way! Big baby!!

That man is a true piece of human shit. He knows how passionate sprint car fans are and he knows how sentimental Huset's is to a lot of people and now he's trying to use that against everyone to get what he wants. He was apparently paying attention when Tony stepped in and bought the All Stars at the 11th hour to save them from destruction and now he's hoping to provoke the same response out of someone to buy Huset's before it's lost forever.

Ya, sounds like bringing in some dozers is just a scare tactic trying to get someone to buy it at the 11th hour like you said.

Being from PA, I don't know near as much about the guy as you folks out there but from my seat, I wouldn't put it past him to bulldoze it to the ground. I mean we ARE talking about the same guy who bought a racetrack and before a single lap was ever turned ar Huset's under his ownership immediately started shitting on Knoxville and everyone else around without any provocation whatsoever. He's obviously unstable and has a serious inferiority complex that makes him go apeshit the second he isn't the center of everyone's world. He thought he'd buy the affection of sprint car fans but most of us aren't nearly as shallow as he is. We make our own friends. He pays famous rockstars to hang out with him. They wouldn't wipe their asses on him if he didn't have money. He says "look at this gold." We say "Neat. Now show us a nicely manicured track surface." He says "I'm friends with Paul Stanley." We say "Ok, cool. Where's Terry McCarl?". He's pissed because his money got him nowhere in the sport due to the fact that sprint car people are still real and material things do nothing for us. He's the worst kind of person. I have a sister in law a lot like him so I know the type. No one likes her either. I hope Larsonfan is right and I can definitely see him doing just that but what you said wouldn't surprise me either. I hope it all works out and all you midwest fans get your track back.

Saw a Twitter post from TMac today trying to help save the place. I hope that it can be saved. Sounds like a great track with a lot of history that is special to many of you. Hoping for the best for you folks.

Looks like somebody wasn't getting enough attention again.

     Thoughts to ponder:

If you plan to donate some property- any property to a government agency in order to take some kind of real or imagined tax break, there is this thing called reality that has to be dealt with. The reality is this: Any kind of a tax break is not based on what you say you paid for the property or what you say you have invested in the property. It's based on the 'fair market value'. That fair market value is essentially what it would sell for tomorrow on the open market. That is the only way to make sure that someone doesn't just make up a number, like say $10 million. In reality, the fair market value of the property would be somewhat tied to what it didn't sell for at the auction. When you look at it that way, it makes no financial sense to try and donate the property for a hoped for, pie in the sky value.

Before any government entity on non-profit would accept a piece of property for free, they would demand that the giver prove that the property was free from environmental liabilites. In this case, the current owner would have to prove that 60 years of use as a race track didn't leave any harmful levels of oil or gas in the dirt.

Sure, a guy could knock down a bunch of stuff and throw a hissy, but that doesn't automatically make the rest of the plan simply fall in place.

So where are all the people who used to brag about what a great guy he was and all the good he was doing for sprint car racing?

Seen this happen to many times. And not just in racing. Rich guy comes in, thinks hes going to change the world, it doesn't go his way, he bails out and leaves a mess behind. This is exactly what I expected from Chuck.

I hope no one gives him more than has already been offered.  Then, if he truly does fire up the dozers, I hope there are no more defenders on this forum for this lower than life piece of crap.

The amazing thing is that its gonna cost him $$$ to  bulldoze it. He could save $$$ by just leaving it alone

What a vindictive asshole

If the tax break is good enough for the speedway, why isnt it good enough for the pawn shop also?

I've gotta ask.  With all the lies this guy has told, why is anyone concerned right now?  The only consistent thing with Chuck Brenan has been the lies.  I'm with Murphy that I don't believe the tax write-off is as great of a deal as he is making it out to be, why does anyone believe it is?  Because HE said it is?  Why is this a news story?  It's out in the middle of nowhere, you can't tell me that he couldn't have brought the bulldozers in without making a big scene.

With that being said, I wouldn't say I've stuck up for the guy in the past but I kind of understood where he was coming from.  However I'm starting to agree with everything negative that's being said about him.  Most people would want to support the community they grew up in, not for what the community can do for them but for sentimental reasons, this guy is doing his best to destroy it because of a vote.

My prediction is there will be a press conference around January 2nd saying something to the affect of "Once people started seeing the large equipment, several people (which might be one or two groupl) stepped up wondering what they could do to save the place, due to these recent developments we are postponing demolition until March 1st.  But if a deal isn't made by then we will start demolition immediately."  I wouldn't be too concerned until a couple buildings come down.

This is unthinkable as a sprint fan! One of the hallowed grounds of our sport being treated this way!!! What do the drivers that supported him and crapped on Knoxville with sweet chuckie think of him now?? Not that it matters, but there are certain drivers that have forever lost me as a fan and love to hear the boo's for them at Knoxville. Hopefully someone can work something out and save this place!!

I agree with all you said as well as Murphy. I wouldn't be surprised if you are 100% in your prediction.  As well, the great folks who have announced opening I90 just down the road for 2019 and headlining with several sprint shows may have affected his plan of scaremongering fans and owners that racing in southeast SD will die when his bulldozers level the 3/8 miler South of Brandon. I have so many memories at that joint...Fran Bruns, Kenny Hansen, Cliff Koidahl, Chucky,  the Dudes domination, TMac, Dewall, Barber, Wolfgang and on and on. He can't take them away no matter how big of a hiss fit he throws. So, if he's not bluffing and he plows the famed oval down, sadly, so be it and be done with it.  I'm tired of his drama. I'll drive by and shed a tear or two, but the next day the sun shall come up again. I'm over it all.

After reading about this since that vote reigned in his loan business I'm thinking this is his way of thumbing his nose at the state.  Racing just happened to get caught up in the middle but I think it's like one final act of defiance that's going to get news coverage with his name attached to it.  Kind of like his FU SD final act of defiance before riding off in the sunset.  Racing in the area is the loser.

I shared a post about this on Facebook and someone in the know replied that the final offer fell through.  I can't verify that so don't hold my feet to the fire but it looks like the 28th deadline will come and go.

This guy is proof that money doesn't buy repect or intellegence for that matter. Good thing he made his money from desperate uneducated people who do not understand how compound interest works, because he probably could not make money doing anything. I have no sympathy for the guy if his reasons are the voters decided to cap the interest rate on payday loans. Just some rich guy trying to live his dreams through the men he wished was. As my old high school hockey coach would say, if he was ever in a men's locker room he would be whisling stranger in paradise.

Your old high school hockey coach was Jim Cornette? Damn he was a versatile bastard.
