Just wondering what is out there for non-traditional track shapes. We call them all ovals and some have long straights and tight corners other shorts a stretching corners. Do we have any eggs shaped tracks or footballs with pointed corners? And with 4 straights like Indy or curved front straights lke Daytona? Any full circles with no straights?

A track near me is gone now but it was B shaped. As you came out of corner 2 you had to turn right on the back stretch to get to what most called corner 3 but was actually the 4th corner, 3rd left.

St Francois County Raceway Farmington MO is D shaped.  Tight off 4 and into 1.  Sweeping back straight.

Kokomo and Volusia are two different sized tracks with back stretches that aren't very straight. More of a long sweeping turn from 2 to 3.

Obviously WG comes to mind as it's a "paperclip" as they call it. I think there's a track in WI that's egg shaped.  Maybe egras or Stan or larryitis or someone else from that region can weigh in.

Found it - 141 Speedway, WI is an egg shaped 1/4 mile bullring.

Bubba Raceway in Ocala, FL is a strange one too.

     If I were starting from scratch, I'd build a triangle shaped track. Stay with me- I'm sober and I'm serious. Imagine the shape of the rack that you use to rack up pool balls- 3 equal length legs and 3 equal angle corners. Take a typical 3/8 mile track to start, then add an extra set of corners and an extra straightaway. As a bonus, put a different banking on each of the 3 corners. 

     I think you'd have a lightning quick, racy track without the extreme speeds of a half-miler. Because each set of corners goes through 120 degrees instead of 180, the cars would zip through the corners quicker. The view from the stands would be interesting as well. I like to sit high above the #4 corner because I like to watch how sprint cars slide through the corners. With a triangle shaped track, I'd have pretty much the same view of the (now) 5&6 corners as well as the 1&2 corners. 3&4 corners would provide a whole new experience, as would the cars going kind of away from me on one strait and coming kind of at me on the other.

Very very very strange track at sfcr  corner 1 tight back the other way corner 2 banking ramps up wall juts out abruptly back stretch not straight sweeps out uphill going into 3 then turn 4 wall and fronstretch wall come in quickly pinching you off downhill a little to flagstand. Big berm on inside of corners. Worst track I've ever spectated or raced on and I've seen alot. Needs bulldozed and start over

Mercer Raceway Park is an egg shape similar to Darlington

New Egypt in NJ (You really need to see that from above to get an appreciation of how strange it is on Google Earth) and a second vote for Bubba/Ocala.

Some of the NY tracks too: Fonda, Brewerton and Weedsport are all strange....and if you want a true paperclip forget WG and look at Lebanon Valley.

Devils Bowl is D shaped and the back straight is 15 feet higher than the front stretch.   I gotta think that's pretty unique.    The old Devils Bowl located over in Dallas was a 1/4 mile with a dog leg in one of the straights, I think it was the back straight?   If you know where the old track was you can still see old aerial pictures of it taken in the 50's and 60's.    You can see that at historicaerials.com

Woodhull, NY is a wide, high-banked 1/3 mi. paper clip. Neat track.

It's been gone for years but if I remember, Langhorn in Pa was a 1 mile near perfect circle track.  Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I have never been there for a race but drove right near there in August.  It reminds me of Fenway Park when I look at the satellite photo.  They stuffed the backstretch in to fit in the fence row just like Fenway shortened left field to fit between the streets.   

Fried egg shaped. How can you go 3-wide out of corner # and transition to 1-wide on the back chute? That looks like a funnel to disaster.

There was a triangle shaped track here local. It was Brushcreek speedway in peebles ohio. They ran some sprint shows there and as you might guess it was blinding fast.  They ran that configuration for a few years and then converted it to an oval which it is today.
